DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA | Mavs "mostly done...but you never know."
Ah if the Hawks are also getting something then it makes sense.

Harden to Boston is crap, imho. I don't see the fit and is great danger to break a nice young group they have. Ainge is smarter than that.

Yup. And now they are arguing about which picks.

Makes perfect sense. Could allow Boston to acquire somebody like a Drummond or use further picks to make an even bigger play at Gobert?

Smart, Brown, Tatum and Gobert. That looks good...to drive Giannis into the open arms of the West. Cool

I dreamed the Giannis dream with you, my dude, but we have to let it go. The party is over.

Why would Cleveland or Utah just send their guy to Boston for nothing? Wouldn't it make more sense to take back Hayward or create a threesome?

He meant the TPE.

Cavs are rebuilding, they have no need for Drummond. Celtics doesn't have to match his contract, because they have that ultra large TPE from the Hayward to ATL deal. Add a pick that the Cavs trade him.

Other teams that want Drummond have to match the 28 mill he is making.

I think that if Hayward came here and you saw how the Mavs would use him you'd end up being a fan.

Maybe, but until it happens I am rooting against him.

Still, obviously I am getting prepared

Obviously they don´t it for nothing.

Let´s assume the S&T is Hayward + #30 for the TPE.

Boston still has #14 and #26 from this draft. Is that enough for expiring Drummond already? I´d say possibly. Boston still has all their own picks going forward to add more, if necessary.

What Boston does not have is a way to get a player of Drummond´s quality in free agency this or next year.

Makes perfect sense for Boston to invest a late pick/2nd round pick to create this giant trade exception.

They'd probably want him but I have a hard time giving up Maxi right now with our severe lack of depth.

18+31+DFS+Curry+filler

That's an extreme overpay. Hayward is basically only a solid starter right now. He's not a star. He's now 30. I'd rather trade for Tobias Harris on his awful salary then trade any decent asset we have for Hayward.

That's a bold statement, my friend.

I at least know Harris is going to be available to play. And his offensive stats are actually better. Defense I don't think is as good.

And make not mistake. I want no part of Harris. But I want no part of GH even less if we are exhausting every decent asset we have.

For a guy who isn't a 20 ppg guy? No thanks. His career scoring average is 15.3ppg. He's a good defender but he's not winning any DPOY awards.
Dear Lord please stop. Health is the concern with GH. Otherwise, Hayward and THJ are not in the same stratosphere as players. Hayward made an all star team the west. He’s a 20/5/5 guy that can do a little bit of everything. THJ we kept from being a complete bum and one of the worst players in the nba by telling him to just catch and shoot off Luka dish outs.

They could just as easily do a threesome. No need for two separate trades and TPE. Not to mention I don't think taking Drummond is a really smart move.

#31 for PJ Tucker, anyone?

I firmly believe a straight swap of....

THJ+Wright <------> Hayward

Is totally fair and a win-win trade for both sides. No need to complicate it further.

I give up. All I can say is you’re going to be really disappointed just like how everyone wasn’t trading 18 for anything but a star. Then Covington got moved for two picks each better than our 18. Might as well not discuss any trades.

Option 1: Wright/Jax/31 for Green. Draft #18. THJ straight up for Dipo? Still have MLE.
Option 2: Wright/Jax/18 for Dipo. Draft #31. Get Green in a buyout situation for MLE. THJ stays for the time being.

We'd have to send out something else for salary purposes - likely, they take Wright, we give them an extra future second or two for the trouble. I'd be happy adding Tucker to the rotation.

I think a definite maybe. I mean its a 1-yr rental and #31 could be a pretty good player so its a tough call.

I think Tucker for Wright + 31 is a fair deal.
