DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA | Mavs "mostly done...but you never know."

One day for trades. 3 days till draft. 4 days for options. 5 days till free agency.

I wonder if this means the Mavs will pressure THJ to opt in soon so he can be traded.

wtf. Why would OKC want Danny Green??

I can see them wanting 28. But Danny Green too? Something tells me there is more to it.

Welcome to the Mavericks Danny Green.

The most logical Schroeder to the Lakers deal is

Lakers get Schroeder
Mavs get Green
OKC get Wright, #28 from Lakers and #31 from the Mavs.

I´m already resigned to the fact it will happen. At least I hope the Mavs are not dumb enough to hand over #18 in the process.

So I am pretty sure Lakers will do 28 + Green for Schroder. OKC can flip Green for something else. Like Iggy last year they don't need to buy him out necessarily. For the Mavs to get him they can't just give OKC Wright + Jax bc I think OKC would consider those relatively negative assets. A couple future 2nds might work. I am not positive Mavs would have to give up 31 in this scenario. I think if you can get away with two future seconds thats a pretty good deal to Dump Wright and get a better player.

Brace yourselves for a third Mavs attempt to acquire Green

I posted at the same time as Mavs2019 lol.

So it's also possible you might just do a 2nd round pick swap. I am not sure you have to give up 31 outright. I do think Green to the Mavs is a very strong possibility.

Oh no, they´ll probably gladly give them #18, because that means they´ll save around $1M in guaranteed money for their 2021 Plan Powder.

Then next summer Ujiri and Riley use it in a ten page PP presentation to Giannis, on why the MBT are idiots, that can´t be trusted to build a championship roster.

No THJ trades on draft night.

No way Mavs give up 18 for Green. Given the opt in dates Mavs will try for a big name trade using Wright/Jax/picks and if that doesn't work out then the fallback will probably be to draft 18 and then do the Green trade. I haven't heard any rumor about this but you would think maybe it's possible that the Mavs just trade 18 for some teams 1st round pick next year? That would allow them to keep a 1st round pick as an asset.

Gonna be honest, with Woj saying the LAL-OKC trade is on course to be done Monday (basically sounds like it’s done) and there’s no mention of a third team trying to get Green (Dallas presumably based on past history) I believe Dallas is pursuing larger targets (Hield, CP3 trade facilitator, Lavine) and will only circle back to Green if all those other options fail

What leverage do we have to pressure him to opt in?

Hield only makes sense if Mavs send out a lot of salary in that trade.

Screw it, I´m beating Scotty to the punch and will throw a tantrum before Woj, even reports that the Schroeder for Green+#28 will be expanded to a three-way trade. Sam Presti always gets so much value out of old ass(ets) players, that I´m afraid we´ll lose #18, #31 and still get to keep Wright.

A Green move doesn't have to happen draft night. Mavs could Send Wright plus future seconds after the draft.

Green has basically the same value Iggy had last year which is to say not a lot.

I don't see why the Mavs are the ones paying to take on a contract. If anything they should be the ones getting paid.

First, no way do they trade BOTH 18+31 for Danny Green. Thats a Dolan move. Donnie doesn't make Dolan moves. Second, I think OKC probably sees Green as a guy they could move at the TDL easy to some contender for yet more assets.

Wow, you seem kind of pessimistic today.

I kinda trust Donnie mostly on trades and drafting - if I'm hesitent, it's about convincing FAs.
