Well done Houston.
I'd say I'm not sure how you coach a team and don't have inbounds plays but I recall Billups saying something similar about George Karl when he recalled first being traded to Denver. I know J.R. Smith has sad something similar but I vividly remember Billups saying he found that unacceptable, called a timeout, and drew up a play himself.

Probably the worst team chocker in NCAA history...

Walter Clayton Jr has played himself into a 1st round pick with this tournament run. Skilled 4-year PG who can shoot. Pretty good athleticism too, even though his game isn't reliant on it

Yes, he could be a good pick for us.

I haven't watched much of him. But wondering - is he in the mold of Jalen Brunson?

I truly hope you guys get Flagg. I think you guys deserve it after losing Luka.
Find me at Lakersball.com. I'm done with the Nico and the Mavs.

Yes, I think a good team picks him at the back end of the first as a win ready guy now.
I really think Haugh will wind up being the best pro from that team. Only a soph so I expect him back in school next year. Sort of a new version, more skilled Maxi.

I was having trouble getting too excited about any of the ballhandlers that I was watching in the tournament.

Ha, I just saw your signature. I am not a fan cop and I certainly can't control who you root for. Although, weren't you one of the main bashers of Luka post trade? So now you have moved over to a Laker board and back on the Luka bandwagon? Again, different strokes for different folks. I have certainly felt a range of emotions over the past two months and not all my thoughts are resonable. To be honest though, it just opens up more questions for me.
Were you a Mavericks fan before? If so, how long?
Are you younger?
What other teams in different sports do you root for?
Are you from the states?
Again, more power to you. I just find it interesting how rough you were on Luka to suddenly drop the Mavs and go all Lakers in a matter of weeks.
I also mean this with no ill will, but I probably won't be looking for you at Lakersball.com

The funniest thing is what he wrote after Luka trade...
All the Luka hate
How is fun to watch new Mavs team ball
This roster has 2011 vibes
Etc etc
I've been laughing for 10 days

Prefacing my comments with "I know mock drafts are BS", especially from someone who has not established a rep.
Saw a mock by Draft Digest and they had DAL picking 13th and choosing Noa Essengue, an 18 yo PF prospect out of Europe that hasn't really done anything yet. Can't imagine a worse choice since PF is a position of strength for DAL and this kid hasn't really competed at a high level and would likely need development time.
This is not a time to draft G-league or draft-n-stash players. With AD, KI and KT's ages, there is a lot of pressure to get this one right and bring in a young contributor (not necessarily a starter). Hard to do picking mid-draft, but I'm thinking best available 2nd or 3rd year point guard might be the target pick.

I may be wrong but just haven’t been excited.
Malauach jumped off the page for me. I think it’d be hilarious to draft another center to this team but if he’s around where the Mavs are I say we take him no matter what and figure out the rest later.
It’d also help when/if we trade Gafford.
Last mock update by Tankathon has him in our "range".
I'd be pretty excited if we somehow get Jakucionis.
Watching him play, his TO feels more like plays he's forcing (which he'll tone down in the NBA) rather than bad reads. Projects as a good shooter and can create his own shot.
I also like Fears, but watching him play, I can't buy his 3-pt shot.

If Nico is kept and the Mavs don't magically move up, I would be shocked if they kept the pick. There is no way Nico is going to want to wait on a young guard. Maybe he is not here though.
Also sort of depressing that there is a good chance OKC, Houston and San Antonio all pick ahead of Dallas. UGH.

Best case right now is we lose our last game and the Bulls win and tie us and the Kings win and end up with a better record. Next important thing would be that the Heat somehow win their two play-in games and move ahead of us. We‘d then end up - if we don’t win our two play-in games of course - with the tied 11th worst record with the Bulls, that means the same lottery odds, but maybe picking in front of them if we win the toss.

Best case scenario the Adelsons cut Harrison and Dumont rotten heads. This is the most important part of next summer.

Thanks for that excellent outline of the current draft situation.
Regardless of how all this plays out, the Mavs can still win the Flagg Sweepstakes with a lucky lottery draw, assuming they don't win two play-in games.
If they did manage to make the playoffs, no lottery, but they can win and win and win and even win a title and still should pick about 15, so not much of a diff in the most probable pick between making the playoffs and not making it while not getting lucky.
I vote for an outcome where Nico gets fired, no matter what. I don't want him making ANY more decisions.

Ha, he is busy with playoffs starting soon and knowing who else plays with the Lakers.
I have no issue someone dropping the Mavs and you can certainly root for whatever team you want. I was just surprised with the total different direction he took so fast. I get it. Emotions are high and it has been tough the last few months. Some are taking a break and some may never come back.
Btw on the draft, if Mavs stay where they are I will be surprised if they keep their pick. It could be best long term but Mavs are not thinking longterm now. The question is what does pick plus a player get in return? Sexton? I don’t think that is enough for White and I am not sure why the bulls would move him now.

Nico is certainly suspect in doing anything from here on out. Far as I am concerned the team needs to be sold and the thing is if we all boycott the tickets then we are pretty much telling the owner that he deserves to lose the team to the league because there has to be a clause in the franchise agreement that states he has to be responsible for financial losses to the NBA caused by doing things that piss off the fan base so that they do things like boycott season ticket sales. I wonder if everyone decided to boycott the teams not buying any season tickets if the league would take action against the new ownership?
