Jimmy Butler Watch

I'd agree, because I agree with your logic, but the most consistent reporting of this trade season has been that PHX and Butler want each other pretty badly. That, plus the way the tweet was worded, strongly suggest GS is at least willing to engage on a level that gets that to happen (at least that's how it seems to me). I'm totally with you in questioning why they'd be willing to take on Beal, and obviously it might not happen.

But, also, something about Butler and GS seems like a poor personality fit, imho.

Why? ThuGS.

I just don't think Green would be involved in this type of trade. He is so important to that team. The issue is he can no longer be your third or maybe 4th best player.

I saw this on Reddit. This is more of what I think a Golden state trade would look like. I am sure other things would need to be added.

[Matt Moore] There’s a potential three-team trade framework that could send Jimmy Butler to Golden State, Andrew Wiggins to Toronto, and Bruce Brown to Miami

That's missing over 22+M outgoing from GS to somewhere, which takes either Green or 3 players (or more), not counting Wiggins. Butler makes a crapload.

[Windhorst] The Heat’s Jimmy Butler has communicated to the Warriors that he’s unwilling to sign an extension there & therefore trade talks to send him to Golden State have ended for now, sources told ESPN.

Nobody wants to pay him. He’s prickly and demanding, and his on-court production has started to decline.

The only real way to move him is to take back bad salary, and maybe include assets.

The only way to acquire him is to pay him his $50m player option next year, then let him walk.

What a mess.

I kinda think he and Miami are stuck with each other for another year.

My Dad always used to say “Most couples deserve each other!”

If the Suns are unable to find a workable trade for Jimmy Butler by Thursday’s deadline, the Heat will pivot to sending him to a team he doesn’t prefer, per @WindhorstESPN
(https://espn.com/nba/story/_/id/43678334...hing-watch).

Miami remains very motivated to trade Butler within the next 48 hours.

Jimmy Butler has essentially blocked multiple trades that would have paid him on contending teams, per
@WindhorstESPN

“Butler's obsession with getting to the Phoenix Suns is bizarrely admirable. He has torched his relationship with the Heat and hurt the team's season. He has also blocked trade options that would be good fits, where he could have potentially gotten paid and been on a contender.”
