They would for a star wouldn't they? I would think they'd trade anyone outside of Butler, Bam for a third star that would make them contenders. I really like their team though, they are going to be a really tough out. They are the surprise team of the East. If the Mavs didn't have the injury issues with KP and Doncic I think they might be 2nd in the West.

Now that Sac has Bazemore they can give us Brogdanovic for taking Dedmon off there hands.

Sac broke their trading freeze, time to strike on Bog for Seth Curry and 2025 first! Then go with Dan's trade (with my modifications). Finally get Snell with our TE and Utah second.

Our team then looks like this:

Luka/JB (with JJB as change of pace)
Bog/Snell (with Culver as development sub)
THJ/DFS (with Culver as development sub)
KP/Maxi
Dieng/Powell

In the off season, we look to get value out of THJ and our first as long as Culver looks to at least be a really good backup for DFS, if not start in front of him.

Good timing for Thunder Port has only 8 players available tonight.  Plus Mavs wore em out last night

LOL look what Luka did to Bazemore.

Meanwhile, Favors passes his Mavs audition today with a 22 and 11 game, making all ten of his shots.

You're most unwelcome. Glad you're here with us, but your team has unexpectedly become a rival to us (especially in standings) this year.

I am not sold we are a seed.  Pretty banged up lately and rough schedule.  Lost 3 of 4.  No worries about competition we will be fodder for our opponent if we make seed but its good experience for youngsters.  We are not passing Mavs so no worries about that.  Still think we make some type of move before deadline not sire what tho.  Mavs are winning minus one star too.

Weird trade for both teams as it's basically a swap of some bad bench players.

Ariza has been god awful this year. Normally he could at least hit a couple of 3's at the worst, but not only can he not stay in front of guys consistently, his shot has seemingly faded for whatever reason.

Then again, Bazemore was terrible for the Blazers. Tolliver as well. I mean he got benched as soon as Mel00 walked off the street.

Seems like a swapping of trash in hopes they need a fresh start.

Just think of it as a pure salary dump deal by Portland.  They traded a few second rounders and swapped some unimportant players to greatly reduce their luxury tax bill.

Oh I totally forgot about contracts for a second. Okay this makes a lot more sense for the Blazers then.

So while no impactful players were moving, Portland at least doesn't pay millions more for no reason.

Looks like Portland is giving up on a season. They can still swap Whiteside for a star, but I think Bazemore would be easier. I really saw them as most likely destination for Gallo. So i wonder, what his market remains. Just looking at contenders, there is an interesting option:
Bos: Gallo+Adams
OKC: Hayward+assets

another blockbuster could be:
Phi: Gallo+Schroeder
OKC: Horford or Harris + assets

I don't really see any other contenders that would be realistically trade for Gallo based on contracts they have.

They are a Hood trade from making it go away completely.  Would they do a protected pick swap if we took on Hood?

Dallas has just enough room to do this while also doing my proposed deal that lands Dieng and Culver (in other words, Culver and Hood combine to almost exactly use up the TPE).

One of the better 3&D players in the league taking less than the full MLE. Probably didn´t want to take any risks in the summer.

Decent contract for both sides.

Utah get him on a reasonable contract long term and he gets guaranteed money to plan his financial future around (hopefully)

Basically Utah's version of Maxi.

#2 - Lauri Markkanen for Lee and a future first, yes please.  Maybe he is redundant somewhat at KP's position but a valuable asset for another trade as needed.  No way the Bulls do that deal.
