Multiple sources said that the Pacers are receptive in trade dialogue with rival teams centered on potentially moving guard Caris LeVert and either two-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis or center Myles Turner. All three players have frequently garnered significant interest from rival teams...new head coach Rick Carlisle wanted an opportunity to spend time with Sabonis and Turner and grow with the roster. Even still, Carlisle has remained interested in seeing the frontcourt duo together.
It’s unclear to rival teams how swift the Pacers could begin to make moves, but it’s expected the franchise will be patient in its trade approach and reach decisions based on the best offers that are made.
Simon, the longest-tenured owner in the league, has always demanded the Pacers put the best possible product on the floor, even if that means being a seventh or eighth seed and losing in the first round of the playoffs. The concern is, a protracted rebuild will mean an even greater decline in attendance. But look at their attendance now, which stands dead last in the league at 13,135 and 29th in terms of percentage of capacity. So the question is: How much worse can it get?
Now, according to sources, Simon, who is 87 years old, has gotten onboard with the idea of a rebuild.
The Pacers don’t want to embark on a long-term “process” or a tank-athon because it’s fiscally hurtful and the Indianapolis market won’t stay engaged — even if fans understand the necessity of starting over.
There are three ways to acquire players — through the draft, through trades and through free agency. For Indiana, though, there are really only two ways: the draft and trades, with an emphasis on trades. Indiana has never been a free-agent destination. Sources tell The Athletic the Pacers will be very active from now until the trade deadline.

[TJ] Warren was cleared last week to start light on-court activity, but he remains out for the foreseeable future. To complicate matters, Warren will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Sources tell The Athletic that Warren has expressed to management that he’d like to remain in Indianapolis.

I followed the Gordon Hayward free agency closely, and it seemed that he very much wanted to end up in Indiana, but that a deal couldn't be worked out with Boston to make the sign-and-trade happen.
I predict a deal between Indiana/Charlotte involving Hayward and Sabonis.

I truly think there is no chance the Pacers (as in RC) would trade with the Mavs. Unless he really truly loves Powell/Brunson. Which I don't think he does.

There has to be some 4-team trade that nets the Mavs CJ and the Blazers Simmons.

Sabonis would be my top choice. We just don't have the pieces for him. Fit aside, he is good enough to be our second best player. A Luka, Sabonis, KP fit might not be ideal but it is a pretty darn good big 3. Fill in the rest with role players. That would be an ideal situation for me.
To Me,Turner is a little more tricky. His defense is legit. You can really feel it when you play them. But he has way too many 10 point 5 rebound games for my liking. He is not a finisher at the rim. He is a solid three point shooter, but not elite and is not a good rebounder. Catch at the right night and he looks like an all star. But there is a reason why the Pacers have wanted to trade him for a while and the rest of the league has been lukewarm.

-Feel bad for Dame and the narrative the media is creating around him.
-If I'm Nico, I'm not giving up any future FRPs unless it is for a bonified star (As much as I like him, that's not Myles)
-If I'm the Pacers, there is no chance I take back Dwight Powell.
-I've been thinking a lot about a Portland trade with the principles being KP/THJ & Nurk/CJ. KP upgrades Nurk (same injury concerns for both) and THJ approximates CJ and is healthy. I wouldn't include DFS and I'd much rather have DFS than RoCo at this point in their careers and that makes the trade too lopsided for my tastes. I don't think Portland would pull the trigger as it doesn't really raise their ceiling and they'll be in a fight to even get to the playoffs in the first place.
-I'd love to see the quote about Luka expressing interest in playing with Simmons. Luka seems like a super agreeable person so I'm sure he'd love to play with everyone and anyone.

Now Dallas has to convince him they are a destination that may give him more than Indiana

I´d take Turner + LeVert + Lamb for Porzingis + THJ.
Expiring
Lamb in 2022.
Turner + Levert in 2023.
Porzingis in 2024.
THJ in 2025.
Generally think due to their age, shorter contracts and lower salaries both Turner + LeVert are more likely to yield a legit #2 in a trade or are more easily moveable to create capspace, if such a player actually wants to sign here.
Maybe Porzingis + THJ move to a different team like Charlotte, Sacramento, Detroit or Orlando, but I´m sure something can get done, if the Mavs pursue it.

Turner's quote:
“It’s clear that I’m not valued as anything more than a glorified role player here, and I want something more, more opportunity. …I’m not valued as more than a rotational role player, and I hold myself in a higher regard than that.”
I sense a pattern developing with Carlisle and centers.

BTW, I could definitely see Maxi as part of a Turner deal. Both play good defense and space the floor, but Dallas is looking for a starter while Carlisle may prefer the guy who accepts his role as a rotational player.
