I’m not the one who said he had a confidence issue when he went to Duke…he did.
Now he is going to make the jump to the pro’s and play with grown men with grown men bodies. We will see what that looks like this year.
The good news is it sounds like there is agreement among the coaches around his expectations for the year.

I searched for awhile and found nothing to support Lively having a confidence issue. Well he did, but it was in the 8th grade.

Anthony Morrow is the answer to both questions. He scored 47 pts for GS in 2009, and he was undrafted out of Georgia Tech.

Wemby bounced back. Made the right adjustments. Reduced the 3-point volume. Went to his go-to spots in the 15ft range and showed his midrange mastery. Did not settle for jumpshots and attacked the rim.
Miller had another nightmarish shooting performance. Rough stretch for him.
I try not to make any judgements in summer league. Most guys aren’t going to be asked to be their lead guys in the real nba. I think Shaeden Sharpe is going to be a stud, but he really struggled last night. Ivey and Duren will also be really good in time, but they have been solid but not amazing.
I am a big proponent of guys who played real NBA minutes last year, to try to get them out of their comfort zone in summer league. Give them the freedom to try new things and try to grow their games. For the rookies, it is an opportunity to throw a lot of things at them and see how they adjust on the fly when asked to do these things.

I typically do not take any of the rebuilding teams seriously until i think they have a lead guy on a good team. San Antonio has one. It is why I rate them much higher than a team like Houston. Finding that star is the hardest thing in roster building. I expect several ups and downs and he will need to stay healthy. But he is a franchise altering talent.

I love that you are doing up your research…it is quite possible I am a liar. I believe it was either a draft or post draft interview since did not do your deep analysis pre draft.
I don’t care either way. Maybe you are right and he is unstoppable, he was just holding back in college.
In almost every redraft article on Hoops Hype there are many undrafted players that end up being classified as top 30 picks sometimes it is as many as 7 guys.
What that proves to me is that the league is filled with guys that cannot evaluate talent worth a damn but eventually these guys who are really good will find a way to win and get into playing in the NBA.

Maybe the scouting reports were right and those players needed that experience to wake up and get hungry. I’ve always wanted to get players that “drop” in the draft for that very same experience. When you have college level talent, that hard work is what can pull a person through.

It's also possible that it's a crapshoot, and that experts who spend thousands of hours researching and evaluating can't really project with any certainty whatsoever whether Player X will actually be an NBA player, or will be any better than Player Y.
So, rather than pillory front offices for "missing" on "obvious" picks, we should cut them a little slack and realize there's a pretty high degree of randomness in the whole process.
...and perhaps we should be a little slower to declare a GM as "genius" because he happens to hit on two picks in a row.

Yet, player evaluation is not merely a random "slot machine" style gamble. Some front offices simply do a much better job of player evaluation and are rewarded with more hits than misses. Grading on the curve, I suspect the Mavs FO to be on the lower end of that spectrum.

I'll never forget Anthony Morrow's absolute heater of a summer league game. Dude came from nowhere and dropped in I think 50 points and couldn't miss.

Loved Lively rebounding, though he is still showing a mixed bag early on
Wright IV trying really hard to make the case that his decision making is even worse than Hardy´s. Can we get one summer league with a capable guard that can run the offense.
