Barely got any run on the Bulls summer league team.  But yeah it was Carlisle really holding him down  Wink

Voulgaris was making the picks last year.  Our genius owner decided not to listen to the scouting department.

who knows who has been making picks for the Mavs for the last 20 years?

probably some guy Cuban met on the stairmaster at the gym or the bottle service girl from the club
Hinton just needs to play better on offense.  Needs to be good in this environment in scoring the ball.   He did have 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, but also 5 turnovers.    A reliable jumper will determine if he is an NBA player.

I like Terry being aggressive driving and that is something he can improve, but he needs a floater.   He also needs to create space and get up as many as threes as possible.   He needs a lot of work, but that was to be expected.  The defense is concerning though.  Maxey is a very good young offensive player and Springer has a big body, but they just overwhelmed Terry several times.   Not sure what he can do against the 6'5 plus really skilled offensive players.   Lets see how he adapts over summer league.

If Green plays in summer league I would go heavy minutes of Terry, Hinton, Green, Franks and Omoroyi.   That could be a competitive team in some matchups.  There just isn't much behind them.    I guess I should add Oni should get minutes as well.
Terry is a work in progress but he will be in Frisco this year anyway, he's not going to crack the rotation...and Green might be joining him with the additions of Bullock and Sterling Brown making the backcourt crowded again. Terry hasn't played since the G-League Bubble in January and then he rejoined the team late during the playoffs and probably was not practicing much.

Omoroyi is worth an extended look. He's got some nice skill/size. Hinton does not deserve a 2-way spot...they probably could get him on the Legends roster easily

All within a couple possessions from Terry.

He has a long way to go but he’s clearly talented. The T-Rex arm-problem will be tough to overcome though. That + his so-so first step + the pretty basic handle is a bad combination. He needs to watch Seth Curry tape 24/7. That’s his role in the Nba.

Not sure how, but he still somehow ended the game with 22 points.

He’s the most and only somewhat intrigueing player on this SL roster Imo.

SL Team.  ?‍?  Sick
Terry has an NBA talent but a high schoolers body. He’s a turnstile on defense. I can’t image he will see the floor this year. But he can always grow so who knows about the future.

Hinton seems like a good kid but I didn’t see him or anyone else with NBA talent.
Glad I missed this one. Philly's starting lineup had 4 players I wanted the Mavs to draft over the last two years, so I'm not sure who I would have been rooting for.
Green will be in Vegas and practicing with the team but will not be playing in games.

Ok, maybe I was too rough on the team today in their first game.  It was really ugly and they looked overmatched, but it is only one game.  I was really curious to see how a few of the guys looked and for the most part I was disappointed.

Summer league games can be tough to watch, but I was hopeful we would see a better brand of basketball.   It is just a bummer coming out of the gate and lay an egg.  Sort of a buzzkill.

They are going to have trouble scoring, I think.  But to have a chance they need to shoot the three much better and reduce the number of bad turnovers.
Just imagine we fired donnie and hired Morey in 2020. Maxey and Joe. Keep Curry. Sign a real player for the MLE
If Toronto takes Jalen Suggs as was predicted, Dragic would be a Mav. Raptors should have taken him, he's showing out in SL. Scottie Barnes may turn out to be a good one, but Suggs was a better fit next to VanVleet. Magic got their PG.

Jalen Suggs was my favorite prospect in this years draft. Dude just oozes talent. I think he'll be the best from his class when it's all said and done but who knows?

I would have the same sentiment if the mistakes the team were making weren't just flat out high school "I never really learned how to play" mistakes. How many times did they just flat out pass it to the other team/out of bounds? The fact that we can't instantly recall the right number says enough.

I was shocked at how these dudes played today. Terry had a moderate bounceback in the 2nd half but also was downright terrible. I'll be surprised if they win a game now (not that it matters).  If Terry + Hinton keep this same kind of performance for the rest of summer league I'm ready with trading the former for whatever top 55 protected pick and cutting the latter as soon as the buzzer sounds in the last game.

He hit some shots, sure.  That is his calling card after all.  He was also a turnover waiting to happen and while you can blame the "turd in the punchbowl offensive sets", most of his turnovers had little to do with that.  You have to be able to do more than shoot.
Isn’t SL a chance for the young guys to learn the system Kidd will be implementing? Sounds like TT was playing the Luka role, who was playing the KP role? I want a sneak peek at what we will see in-season!

Josh Green?

I don´t think we have someone on the SL-roster, who can mirror KP.

I don't think we have someone on the summer league roster who can mirror any NBA player in fact...
