Great moves. If they really want James Johnson back then they can bring him back this summer for a more affordable contract that would represent his veteran leadership role

Could fill a Steve Kerr role for the Mavs?

So we traded for Johnson to add veteran experience and now we are replacing Johnson with Redick to add veteran experience. Great move.

There must always be a Stark in Winterfell

And there must always be a JJ in Dallas

Yeah, he has not been great this year, but with the coaching change things have been weird there.  Maybe he is close to being done, but I feel confident saying he is not a below league average three point shooter.  In fact, I think he is still one of the best, despite his percentage..

I think, if healthy, this is the type of player that Rick gets the best out of.  He is averaging 9 points a game this year with spotty minutes but before this year has basically been a 15 point a game scorer throughout his career.

I don't expect him to average that here, but the Mavs add another shooter who teams don't want to leave open.   Not bad, I think.

This might be part of our trade

Exactly. Reddick has 110 playoff games under his belt

Would rather have LMA from the Spurs. Lyles. Eh. Six years, three top level franchises. I doubt they all got him wrong. Why not try to find a young guy that was on the Wizards, Kings and Magic rather than the Nuggets, Jazz and Spurs.

Redick is washed and will bolt the second he gets an opportunity to do so.

Wasn’t he talking crap on a podcast after the Deandre-debacle? Never liked the guy.

Of course we’re dumping a 2nd rounder on top of that.

Meh.

Redick is 44.4% on threes in his last 10 games.  Even his season average of 36.4% is an improvement on some Mavs.  Why has he been out since March 3?  I can't imagine it's because of any serious injury, or the Mavs would not have done the deal.

True, but you should have learned by now that Cuban has no pride, especially when it buys him another 12 months of good coverage by The Ringer. I also wonder whether we base our draft strategy around Bill´s fetishes. I haven´t heard a lot about Tyrell Terry from him lately. Big Grin

That being said he´s still better than James Johnson.

Redick has a podcast. He wanted to join the Nets (lives in the area). Question was if the Pelicans would trade him or if it would end with a buyout. I guess Mavs fans that haven´t watched any Pelicans games will find out soon enough. He is done. Can barely move. Last years version of JJB would have been more useful.

Yes, and hopefully in a big game against the Spurs!

It´s actually getting worse. Mavs are adding a stretch big that cannot shoot.

I thought about Peja, but I remembered a game where Kerr came in in the 4th quarter and put in about 10 3s to win the game. DAL had no answer. It was a bitter loss.
