How in the world are the Mavs favored? Are the bettors all drunk?

Analytics models favor the Mavs by around 5.0 pts.

My guess is that it's because the Mavs offense is starting to click so well.

This is the biggest game of the post covid run and the first half of the season.  Let's go Mavs...

While a win would be very encouraging, I wouldn't be upset with a loss at all. The Mavs have certainly been playing better, but they have a long way to go to catch the Blazers' level of play. On the other hand, if they hung their heads and ended up losing a single one of the next three games afterwards, all of which are rock-solid should-wins, that would be gravely dispiriting.

CJ McCollum is injured, I am sure that's why. Not sure if they have other injuries as well.

Oh wow this is worse than I thought. Collins, Nurkic & McCollum are all our. Hood is day-to-day.

I think Nurkic is hurt, too, but could be way wrong about that.

Portland is a pick and roll team, kind of like our Mavs, so it will be interesting to watch KP today. Hopefully, his energy and activity shows improvement and gives us reason for optimism.

The Blazers have had a very favorable schedule imo.

They beat Philly twice, the Lakers, Toronto and Denver. Mixed in with 2 wins vs the Kings, and a win over the Rockets. Not sure those teams are favorable. They're playing reasonably well, despite all those injuries.

What about win/loss combined with SoS?

Yes, this Mavs bunch should NEVER underestimate any NBA team.

IDK, I only stated that the Blazers had a very favorable schedule to this point (which they have).
