I would think not. Donovan is the real deal and could make that team way more competitive right away.

I still hope OPJ or Tomas can be snagged.

Yeah, how the hell did the Bulls of all teams get a good coach?

Do you think he would like the Wright for Young trade idea?

He was hired as HC, not GM, right? If he has any bearing on the decision, since he's probably top half among coaches in the league, he probably hurts any fleecing opportunities the Mavs might have had.

Jokic is balling hard tonight.

Rondo and Davis, so far, are barely trying.

@"KillerLeft" make sure you watch Grant real closely tonight and tell me what you see and think.

I'll try, pal. I get mesmerized sometimes during Denver games watching MPJ clearly not understand what his team is trying to do on either side of the ball, but I'll try to suck it up for science.

Tonight, I'm watching Rondo move out of the way any time his man heads towards the paint.

Grant Grant Grant Grant

Ok, I'll do better 2nd quarter.

If anyone knows the sideline reporter, PM me her number. I want to ask her questions about basketball.

Lol, Porter NEVER moves the ball. Sometimes his shots go in, though.

Jokic sitting, Lebron playing to start 2nd quarter. Denver on a 7-0 run. I'm enjoying this.

@"Kammrath" what does the computer say about Torrey Craig?

Rondo is going full Dallas Rondo tonight. It's bananas. I haven't seen anything like this since that Houston series.

He just left his man, pointed to another Nuggets player and ran to a third. His original man drained an uncontested 3.

Am I the only one here?

Pffffft "Nba fans"

Murray is trying to do a little too much.

Words cannot express how little I think of Plumlee. His contract is up after this season. If the Mavs sign him somehow, I will officially become a former Mavs fan.

I'm here, but you're doing a great job on your own, so I'm hanging up and listening.

We've progressed to the part of the game when Howard tries to thug up Jokic.

Nice fast break by Grant (after a soft double on Lebron, tbh).

You'd give up the privilege of watching Luka because we signed Plumlee? I'll believe it when I see it, but I hope I don't see Plumlee here to find out.

Good ball pressure after a switch by Grant, but I'm not sure it counts because it was against Rondo, who everyone in the world knows won't try to score.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...never said I'd stop being a LUKA fan.

We dodged a bullet with Green.

So you'd want him to play somewhere else? Our friendship would have to end...

I tell you what @"Kammrath"...I came for Grant's defense, but I'm staying for his offense. At his size, he can change direction off of the dribble.

Seems like I missed a dumb foul by Grant typing that last post. He's on the bench again.

Jokic is literally a better PG than Murray.

For some reason, multiple nuggets chase Rondo as he drives baseline. Davis open 17 footer after a great pass.

To be fair...Jokic is probably a top 5 passer in the league. Already easily the best passing bigman of all time. I think Walton and Sabonis are the only guys that are  even close to him and both lost a lot of their playmaking ability due to injuries.

For sure.

I think maybe watching Nash/Dirk and JET/Dirk has spoiled me. There are SO many times when the big blitzes Murray on those high pick and rolls where Jokic is standing there wide open for way, way too long without getting the ball. Not tonight, so far, but I've seen Murray make the pass way too late often during these playoffs.

And then there are the skip passes, which Murray really has trouble with.

Jokic has been the best player on the court so far tonight. He's UNREAL and I love him.

Time to see what wildly incorrect prediction Chuck makes tonight.

Murray clearly is not a natural PG but basically forced to play the position because of his size. I actually think Terry was a similar but slightly worse player. Mediocre defending combined with great shooting and scoring ability but not the best playmaking.
I think Murray greatest strength is his ability to absorb contact in the paint. He jumps into the body of his defender and prevents him from even attempting to block the layup.

@"dirkfansince1998" I agree, though by the end, I think Terry could make the right pass out of the plays he ran with Dirk for years. Maybe this was attributable to repetition rather than creativity, but it worked.

But yes, Murray is a scorer, not a PG. There are just so many guys doing BOTH well these days that I find him lacking, sometimes.

@"Kammrath" good lord they're paying Gary Harris too much.

Bad things are happening for Denver now.

Lebron doing his Denzel Washington impression, trying to get Murray kicked out of the game.

Wild ass basketball is being played. Kind of difficult to follow.

GREAT DRIVE BY JERAMI GRANT!

GRANT 3!!!!

He's affecting the game positively on OFFENSE

You see why I like him, Scott?

That's the exact type of BODY the Mavs don't have.

He's like a more athletic, more skilled Kleber. AND YOU'D STILL HAVE KLEBER

Lebron easy score over Grant (damn) followed by a great, timely pass by Murray for a wide open Jokic 3!

...followed by another poor defensive possession by Grant (damn).

Lebron is making some shots, but Grant is doing a good job, imo.

@"Kammrath" I don't know if the numbers will show it, and it wasn't consistent, but Grant has altered this game for the better on both ends of the floor tonight. He's sitting again now, but he made Lebron visibly more passive during that stretch. Dude made some shots, but he's Lebron.
