Sorry, but we didn’t close out games well this year with Luka and KP.

I think instead of CP, the Mavs should’ve traded for RoCo.

For whatever reason the Mavs rarely trade for or sign high impact defenders. Most of the time they try to add defenders through the draft or even sign undrafted players. Not really sure why. Maybe they just struggle to evaluate defensive talent. Maybe they have a offense first mentality. I just hope that they will change their approach in the future and don´t repeat the mistakes of the Dirk era. They wasted half of his prime with offensive minded rosters that lost in the playoffs because they couldn´t defend anyone.

Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...

This out of the blue.
How many coach jobs available now? Bulls, Pelicans,  Pacers, Sixers? May be Rockets soon?

Good for him.

I think he will be a good coach...with all that talent, maybe another Kerr. At least he'll be better than Billy Donovan!

Do we know if MBT attempted to trade for RoCo? We couldn't have matched Houston's offer anyway.

Oh, we could’ve matched OKC’s offer for CP3?

That was out of the blue but good for Steve Nash. Potentially not a great first HC job though, high expectations with that roster and a headcase like Kyrie Irving on the team. I imagine he was hired though probably because he was KD or Kyrie's choice though

Dirk seems to be enjoying his retirement, I wonder when/if he'll be ready to get into coaching

OG was wide open. What was Boston doing?

In my opinion, it's not defensive players they have trouble finding, it's two-way players. Wright IS an impact defender, for example, but he doesn't know how to play off the ball on offense, so he's literally unplayable on a good team.

This is why I would 100% not give up on KP, Kleber or DFS, who are pretty much the only two-way players on the team.

Game 1 with Denver puts in perspective that Kleber and DFS did okay against Kawhi and PG 13. It would be nice, if the Clippers just swept everybody else, so Giannis understands we are the 2nd best team in the league. Big Grin

TNT and Reggie did their best all night to show you that Marcus Morris is really just a good dude.

Just like athletes who retired after mid 30's, coaches tend to retire after their 60's

With Nash being hired, it makes me wonder if Rick (who will be 61 in a month) was ever to be fired, which former player could ever take HC for the Mavs.

Luka can take over as coach when he's 51 and the great Rick Carlisle decides, voluntarily, to hang up his whistle at the golden age of 91.

Rick isn't ever going to be fired. He will probably retire at some point. I am not sure he will last to the end of the Luka era. Luka probably has 15 years in him if he a) stays with the Mavs and b) doesn't get injured.
