Of course not. If we were the Wizards, we´d have two star players and more than one exciting young prospect.

But who do you suggest we sign in FA instead, since Markkanen is not good enough?

My preference would be Ball, because he is the kind of two way player we really need.  I think most likely the FO is angling for DeRozan.  He is another offense only player that we would need to surround with defense, but he does bring two very important things to the table, the ability to create for himself and the ability to create for others.  We have very little of that outside of Luka.

Honestly my ultimate preference would be to trade KP for a creator/playmaker.  The primary options are CJ, Hayward or DeRozan (as an S&T).  In all of those cases we would want to get an anchor at center and 3&D wings to complement.  We would have the room to sign Holmes and Ball.  That would be an incredible off season.  I would be also be happy with Holmes and Normal Powell.  We could also trade Brunson for a 3&D player into our cap space.

If FO wants to hold on to KP, then you are probably looking at DeRozan and somebody like Green.  That starting lineup KP/DeRozan/DFS/Luka/Green is probably not good enough defensively, but it will dominate offensively.  

In none of these situations does it make sense to bring in Lauri.  The biggest needs offensively are creation to take some pressure off Luka, and defense in general.  I don't hate the player, he is just not a good fit.
