For a new regime coming in I think its very likely they look at how our Cap figures are being allocated generally (very heavy at Center) and decide its best to swap out a KP for Derozan and have more flexibility to build out the rest of the rotation the way they would want.
Adding Derozan alongside Luka and KP at $25 mill + figure severely limits you going forward and that trio would be horrific defensively now that we've established KP is no longer a rim protector or switchable big.
Just Luka/Derozan with shooting and defensive versatility around them is a much more well rounded and better playoff team imo.
