All that might be true, but for me any interest started with his ability to help LAC overcome both Dallas and Utah by playing center.
Not interested in squeezing the last bit of juice out of an aging 3. Just play Green more, imo. Somewhat interested in a better bench 4, if he can do that. VERY interested in having a better small ball 5 in my tool belt than what the opposing team can offer, and to my thinking that's a skillset that can't easily be obtained by a young player. That potential trumps the "washed" worries I have.
Only my opinion.
Maybe I'm overly partial to this strategy, idk. For context, I think Brandon Bass's career was one of the only smart things Avery Johnson accomplished here in Dallas. They haven't really had a guy like that since, that I can think of right now.
