I also think a team would be happy to give up only a first and cap space to take on a reclamation project like KP. Which is why I think the Mavs will keep a high bar for letting go of him. It seems to me that if you let go of him for capspce this summer, it wouldn’t really do you any good in FA. So you must keep him as your own reclamation project. Maybe he builds value for a trade later or actually becomes the player you thought he could be. But unless you get something really worthwhile, I don’t see it.
