THJ is an awkward fit with the starting group due to his defensive concerns, so it would be strange to go sign a THJ clone in Fournier/Monk as our big off season acquisition.  That would be wildly disappointing.

A name that did not show up on the list that I think would make way more sense as a JRich replacement/upgrade is Devonte Graham.  He shoots the three well at a very high volume, is very good distributor, and can play defense against opposing point guards.  

Graham, actually makes THJ expendable so if you can land him you can spend the rest on THJ or Holmes.

I’ve been beating the Graham drum for awhile. It seems J Rich is the unicorn when it comes to replacing him. There’s such a widespread lack of defenders in this current NBA among non-bigs. Most of the best defenders available are old vets

However, Graham is the number 1 guard in the entire league based on DRPM. I don’t put too much stock in defensive stats or plus minus so who knows? Maybe it at least says he’s got potential

3. distributor: check
4. young building block: bonus check

Not really sure what else we could ask for in a player. I’ve scoured the lists and he’s the only guy I’ve seen that checks all the boxes. 

Bad news is he’s RFA. Either we can work out a deal with agent and CHA before the puck drops on FA or we can’t and move to backup plans. None of this wait and see. Must be a sure thing
