I don't think Utah will have a problem giving Conley a 3-year deal.   Next year would be their heaviest tax penalty and they've got a few contacts they could trade pretty easily.  Conley is super productive and on a team that is a contender.  Pursuing him seems like a waste of effort.  The best chance you'd get to pry Conley out of Utah is if they win it all and you money whip him with a long contract.

KP came up on the Hardwood Knocks Podcast.

Their take is Dallas is one to 1.5 players away from a championship.  They don't think Dallas will trade KP.  What Dallas wants to see is another star that can be 2A or 2B with KP or maybe makes KP the third best player on the team.  

They did start by saying there aren't obvious trade suitors and mentioned Charlotte (what Rozier-plus package would Dallas want?  Would Charlotte do that?  They went to something similar to what was discussed here).  By the end of the conversation they said the market for KP would be "vast" and he wouldn't be "hard to trade".  But, they concluded it could happen, but more likely a year from now and only after a disappointing season.  Preference is KP Plus another really good player and they want to give that a shot.

Brunson was interviewed on Lowe Post Podcast episode that dropped today.  About to listen now.  Will report if anything interesting next time I'm signed on.

I'm long believed the MBT would be stubborn with holding onto KP.  This season has changed that.  There are a lot of factors involved, but it mostly comes down to availability.  I still think it's going to be their preference to hold onto KP but it's much, much closer to a coin flip at this point than a sure thing.

I'm sure the interest in KP would be vast.  Deals that would be attractive for both teams in the trade scenario...not so vast.
