Nash has said his one regret that he would do over is he would have been more aggressive as a scorer because that's often what the defense was giving him and he was too differential to passing. So do I want Luka to score 25 with 15 assists or score 40 with 5 assists? Both? Whichever one is needed to help the Mavs given that partiuclar night against that particular opponent under those particular circumstances.
The Mavs just need to be more varied and diverse in their offensive approach, because a 1 trick pony offense isnt going to work in the playoffs if you have a Nick Nurse on the other side with a high level roster full of high level defendrs gameplanning, implementing and tinkering with ways to take away your 1 trick over the course of a 7 game series.
