Oladipo is a classic case of a guy I wouldn't want now, but could be a different story in a year or so. It is a clear calculated gamble on whether you think the old Oladipo is still possible. I have not watched him this year, but his shooting has been pretty bad. Not sure if this is just him taking a lot of bad shots or if he just doesn't have quickness anymore to get good looks. But he has certainly not been the same player over the past year and half.
It is a gamble that I could see going either way. I just don't have confidence in the mavs front office to make the right decision.
Until I get a better look at him, I would shy away from a trade. I think you would have to give up more than my liking and you would be in trouble if his play does not improve. Although, in a year from now, he could certainly look like he was bought at a discounted rate.
