I think the deal would be Wiseman + Oubre, expiring for KP. Mavs would get cap space which gives them flexibility. The Wolves would not be selling their future so to speak as they would still have the Minnesota pick to draft a player of the future. As it stands they don't need two top 3 rookies, they need a win-now star. KP would be an excellent fit there.
Technically, the Minnesota pick is top 3 protected this year. It doesn't change your point that much, just pointing out the technicality. There is almost a 50% chance it is number 5, but can't be worse than that. If not conveyed, it is unprotected in 2022...a year Dallas would have two picks and could trade one for something else.
I don't think Wiseman Oubre plus filler is nearly enough. The other filler GS has isn't very attractive. I thought about adding the GS pick, but they don't control it unless it is top 20 protected. I guess they could convert to 2022 if not conveyed as GS still has their 2023 pick.
