Put me in the camp that says KP would be great (when he plays) in GS.  Their remaining window with Curry (32 and signed for one more year) is a major consideration.  Thompson and Green are both signed for 3 seasons past this one (as is KP with a PO for the final year).  They don't seem to have a budget and can't really afford to be too cheap with Curry's UFA year coming up.  Wiseman and the TWolve pick are there to bring back talent for the current era and KP fits the bill.  What they have left after the 23/24 season is a problem for another day.  

I don't believe the Mav Brass's protests that they haven't discussed KP with anyone.  I don't believe it is necessarily GS who leaked this (there could easily be a third team involved.

I don't do this for anything less than Wiseman and the best GS pick this summer.  I suspect that is not the issue.  The issue (assuming this is all true) is probably the filler.  There are versions of this that would be built around Wiggins as filler (which probably puts Dallas into the tax).  There are versions of this that would be built around Oubre and more filler (which would put GS FURTHER into the tax).  For argument sake, let's say Dallas is trying to use an expiring player and a pick or pick-swap to get another player.  Dallas would want expiring Oubre to send out.  GS could easily say..."no, send one of your own expiring contracts to Atlanta because you need to take Wiggins".

I do think KP would be an amazing fit there. As much as they might like Wiseman KP would help them win right now. If I am Dalllas I think I'd want the cap space. That Minney pick would be great but then Wiggins money would a problem and I don't know that Mavs would value him as a player.

To me the deal would be KP for Wiseman + Oubre, filler and the sticking point would be that pick. Mavs would want it and GSW wouldn't want to give it up. It depends on who is more desperate. The Warriors could use that pick to try to upgrade Wiggins or otherwise fetch a very good player. In terms of star power I feel like KP is the biggest star with the best fit to be that 4th star in sort of the Durant role but much less ball dominant.

Time will tell but for the Mavs Wiseman to me is a better long-term fit and would allow Mavs to spend money on other positions.
