KP is very dangerous as a cutter, he just does not do it much. Golden St. is not going to post him up they are perfectly fine with him parked at the 3 point line opening up the lanes for Draymond's pick and roll 2 man game with Steph.
Not sure if you have watched them as much as I have but lots of people on twitter and other analysts think it could be a perfect match as well.
I don´ think you watched the video. We talked about pick and roll ballhandling and no Draymond is not a good finisher of the dribble.
I haven´t watched them but you haven´t even realized that on ball screens aren´t a big part of the Warriors offense? In the entire video Draymond had one assist as the pick and roll ballhandler. That´s it. Rest is him finding the open cutter/spot up shooter or creating as the roll man. That´s not what you described in the orgininal post.
Draymond is one of the most gifted passers in the league and has good handles but he isn´t going to break down the offense as the main ballhandler. The offense is build around Curry´s movement. He creates the open cuts and 3-point shots for the rest of the team. Draymond without Curry wasn´t doing anything last season.
A Draymond/KP pick and roll would lead to an easy switch. Neither is going to beat his defender of the dribble. Neither is a reliable iso scorer after the switch.
No one denies that KP is a good floor spacer and that could certainly help the Warriors but we already saw that he wasn´t happy when he played a similar role in Dallas.
KP is a terrible screener and that´s probably the most important task for a bigman in the Warriors offense. Free Curry (or Klay when/if he returns) with hard (or moving ) screens. After the screen the bigman usually cuts to the rim. I guess KP couid also pop to the 3-point line instead.
And I haven´t even started with the defensive problems. KP is struggling in a Mavs scheme that tries to hide his lack of mobility. Not sure how the Warriors are going to run a switch everything scheme with him on the floor.
Don´t get me wrong. KP is an upgrade over the current bigman but he is not the perfect fit for them. I can still imagine a scenario where the Warriors go for it because they have to match the superior talent of both LA teams and the Nets. Just don´t think that it would move the needle for them.
