Sheesh. Mavs would've been better off signing TJ McConnell for 2 years 7 mil. Or I don't know just throwing the minimum at Burke like they did this most recent summer instead of letting him walk to PHI for free???
It's puzzling. Donnie does moves that on the face of it just seem dumb from any perspective, but then he goes and manages to sign Seth to a 4 year 32 mil deal. Maxi on a similar 4 year 36 mil deal. DFS at 12 mil over 3 years. Amazing value signings.
I swear it's like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when it comes to free agency with him. Sign one of the best 3pt shooters in the league on a discount, then give Powell an unneeded raise. Lockup Maxi for a reasonable deal. Give up 4 2nd rounders for Delon Wright.
I am going to give him a pass on Delon Wright. A GM needs to be on the side of positives for these these things than negatives.
The decisions I am pissed about are the Seth Curry Trade, and the draft selections.
There were quality win now options when we picked and they chose to pick guys that are a few years away. I am okay with our rookies but I think at this stage of the game the Mavs should be drafting best player available to build up their asset inventory.
