Honestly just thinking about it, if we're debating Drummond pros and cons and are mulling it over, why don't the Mavs try and make a play for Al Horford?
We know there was some supposed interest back in the 2019 offseason. Horford off the bench would be what is probably his best role, and his impact on winning is well documented.
But the real prize for me in any Al Horford trade, would be to try and snag Lugentz Dort.
Johnson+Richardson+Green+2027 FRP is what I was thinking for Horford+Dort. Seems like a lot, but Dort is one of, if not the, best perimeter defender in the league. His scoring is volatile, but he's basically a better version of Richardson at this point AND Al fixes our big man rotation.
After that trade I'd go and dangle WCS or Powell to a team seriously in need of depth there, like TOR or Nets and try and snag a pick from them.
