Collins would be amazing, I just don't know how the Mavs would get him and why Atlanta would want to trade him. Maybe they just hedged their bets bringing in Gallo in case they thought Collins was getting too pricey to keep. At this point if I am Atlanta I am either keeping Gallo with the intention to match any offer or I am asking for some serious assets in return. And why not just keep Collins in the first place? Maybe they were on the fence before but aren't any more.
That's why I go back to the more practical move is not Collins (unless Mavs want to part with KP which I don't believe they do) but Gallo. Trade expiring + Josh Green or something for Gallo. Hawks cash in on good asset management from last offseason (flipping a FA into a good prospect) and Mavs get the player that could put them over the top imo. Gallo is really a fine scorer even at 32. I don't think the things he does are going away anytime soon.
Starting lineup would be the same but then you have Brunson, THJ, Gallo as your key reserves. Gallo would likely take all of Willie's minutes in this 8 man playoff-esque rotation Rick has been rolling out. Mavs offensive rating would get a big boost.
