Was he failed by his GM and owner, or is he just a mediocre coach whose image was inflated by a single great run? Time will shed some light on this. Time in IND will be HUGE...but I think what DAL does next will be HUGE. I would argue both will impact his long term legacy for serious fans.
I don't know how you could argue that the drought was not almost entirely a failure of GM/Cuban. They never had the talent to compete in the playoffs, and the one year they did they traded it for Rondo.
Luka is so good that he just needs a fairly small boost in roster talent (something GM/Cuban failed to do the last two years) to win a playoff series. If anything, I think this off season and the resulting performance will have more impact on Nelson legacy than Rick's.

I think we are saying different things. I would have Noel playing the 4 on defense. If we think KP does not have the mobility to play center on defense, I don't think its going to help to put him on the perimeter.
