the biggest thing that came out is KP is more than likely staying put. That has pretty huge implications on offseason moves.

But they will never imply otherwise. Nothing to read into there IMO.

I saw a tweet that Kidd with be bringing Tyson and Barea to summer league to see if coaching is something they want to make their life work.   I think this is smart.  It is a big jump to put a guy on the bench with no coaching experience....no matter how well liked he is or how good of a player he was.  The best route is probably make him a deep coach who sits behind the bench and let him grow into the role.

Yes, Kidd says that it is easy from outside that you want to be a coach, but in practice, it's hard and not for everyone. So they are thinking about getting Barea and Tyson in to help coach in the summer, to give them a feel for it, and see if they really want to do it after all.

It would be unwise to say anything different, no matter what is the plan. Only further destroying his value. "KP is great and we want to keep him. Oh you offer that for him?, hmm interesting."

No doubt, and no one is untouchable outside of Luka. 

However, the enthusiasm for making things work for KP was stronger than they really had to exhibit. Not saying they wouldn't trade him for the right offer, but definitely got the vibe that they want to try and make it work, and aren't looking to dump him at all.

Nico especially is a wall, he gave absolutely nothing.

He seems like a great poker player. Friendly enough that you want to play with him, but cold enough that he cleans you out. Which probably makes him an effective negotiator. And it's also a nice quality for someone whose job it is to tamper like crazy without getting caught.

Yep, for sure! There are those that can make the jump seamlessly too. The right way to do it, though, is to have them on the deep bench to start. I hadn’t heard the TC part of this, so that got me excited! Put a bit of TC into KP and that guy becomes a monster!

Kidd says the rookies will play a lot for the Mavs this summer (Josh Green less, because he is playing with his national team). Says he cannot commit to how much they will play in the season, because he hasn't seen them play and gotten a chance to evaluate them at this point.

He definitely WENT to this (maybe backtracking a little?), but his opening comment felt like a pretty clear statement about getting young guys playing time and the need for that if you are going to develop them IMO.

Reading between the lines, I definitely get the vibe that Kidd plans to use KP differently than Carlisle did.

To add more context to the second statement. It was said within context of KP finally having a healthy offseason, which was elaborated in quite some length.

Really appreciated his demeanor and "close to the vest" mentality. He was there to not let anything get out that might be detrimental to his team building efforts.

Yeah it is a big jump.  You need to see if they really want to do it or if they are just bored after their playing career is done and they want to find something to do.    Assistant coaches and behind the bench coaches do a lot of grunt work.  It is not a sexy role, but that time can be very valuable to develop.  If you are really good you can jump up pretty good.  Others it may takes years to earn a chance.

I was a little surprised that Cuban asked Nico if he agreed that Cuban should be the decision-maker at the organization. Nico looked a little awkward, then said it made sense to him.
