I'm less concerned about Bey's position and more concerned with whether we have good clay or not. I'm much more hopeful with him than I am with Terry. The team obviously thought they had something with Terry or they wouldn't have given him the upgraded contract. So far, what I see is a guy who would get shoved around in a WNBA game. I also don't see that one special skill that projects have to have (which was supposed to be 3 point shooting).
Back to Bey, the more positionless a bench forward can be, the better. His special skill is reportedly defense (plus out-sized athleticism). He's also a pretty good defensive rebounder. Ideally, you'd like to see his junior year stats (.530, .419, .743 13.8/9.0/1.2/1.5 in 29 minutes) replicated on a per minute basis by the time he's in his 3rd year in the NBA. Since all he has to work with right now his G-League stats, I'd like to see that kind of production right now. He's crushing it on points and boards and a little shy on steals and blocks while maintaining his overall FG%. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see him take a few more 3's. There is no telling what to think about that .419 college percent since it was achieved on only one attempt per game.
