2020-2021 MAVS NEWS: Archived

"He's doing so much more than just scoring, and we love it when he's passing the ball and getting everybody involved."

I would like to remind KP that Luka would have a gazillion assists this year, if the team wasn't 30th in 3pt percentage.  When y'all are clanking, Luka has to assert himself.  So it is more of a you performance issue than a Luka issue. Rant over.

Imo, we've become a little desensitized to what the team has gone through to this point.

Good for Luka. That's what you want to hear. Bravo.

Playing SG. Mavs seem to want him to play PG...

TT's final stat line:

34 mins
19 pts
8-17 FGs (he had his shot blocked two times so those were two of his "misses")
1-4 3s
1-1 FTs
3 rbds
2 asts
1 stl
3 TOs
+5 (2nd highest on the team and by far the highest of the starters)

My read?

Mavs want TT to potentially replace JB and JG to potentially replace JR or THJ.

I think Terry just isn't ready for the NBA yet. Remains to be seen if he can get there. Good to see him have a solid game in the G-Bubble
14x All-Star, 12x all-NBA, 1x MVP, 1x Finals MVP, 1 NBA Championship: Dirk Nowitzki, the man, the myth, the legend.

He still needs a year or two to fully develop, but I like what I have seen in this game. It's nice to see him get almost all of his points near the rim, he realy crafty on those layups. And he is also quite fast/quick.
He also had some nice assist but the teammates just didn't get the basket.
The only thing that bothered me is that he didn't looked invested on defense.

But how comfortable did he look.

Dude looked like a deer in headlights during his minutes on the Mavs.   Fumbling the ball, scared to dribble, picking up his dribble, hesitant when passing...he looked like we suited up Justin Beiber and threw him on the court.

Where did you watch it?

Mavs have dropped to 17th in offense.  KP and Luka have to be more efficient from 3pt land.

Both are not really that far from last year in their 3pt percentage

Bold talk for a team that threw a g-league offense out there for three quarters, but I like the confidence.
