If Barea is not getting a "gold watch" then there are two options:

1) Cuban is handing someone ELSE a bunch of money.

OR 

2) There is a trade in the works. 


I think JJB getting handed money makes the most sense of the three. Time will tell.

They've taken more guaranteed contracts than they can keep before. Might be to generate camp competition or that they're genuinely undecided on the top 15 or 17.
