Brian Dameris, former Mavs FO guy, said on the latest podcast episode of [color=var(--newCommunityTheme-linkText)]77 Minutes in Heaven[/color]

 that “he heard Mavs want a 3rd star as an insurance if one of the current 2 goes down”. He said “they saw what happened in the playoffs last season” when Porzingis couldn’t play.

He also said they were dangling Brunson to move up the draft, but it did not pan out.
In the same podcast he also said they won’t rush Porzingis back. Followill added that KP might be out 3-6 weeks depending on how conservative they are.

So that means Porzingis will be out nearly six months with a torn meniscus and people will say that´s a normal recovery time, like 18 months for an ACL.

I´m no opposing the Mavs being cautious, but that means from his first 100 Mavs games, he´ll miss like 40%. Probably how the Knicks envisioned this going. They just didn´t anticipate that Luka would become THE next guy (so fast).

Anyway I only see one solution, when you look for a star that can cover PG for Doncic and C for Porzingis at the same time. Any chance he´s an UFA next summer.
