I'd be ok with a rental, but only if the guy you're renting could conceivably be in the top 10 on your free agent board for next year, usable in a sign and trade at that time, etc.
The best case scenario for Williams is selling him to a bigger contender at the trade deadline. I suppose if you think you can turn #18 into a first rounder in 2021 by doing THAT, I can see it, but that's really risky.
