Quit combining guys with player options with draft picks. We still haven't heard definitively that the *deadlines* on options is going to be before the draft, which means that THJ could opt out after the draft. Then you're stuck with the guy you drafted for Indiana, who may not fit your plans.

So where is the downside here? THJ is gone and we get whoever the capable Pacers front office evaluated.

The FO that picked Turner, PG13, Granger, Bitadze and Leaf in the 11-20 range. Gets even better, if you factor in that they now can´t trade "their" pick anymore, because it´s ours, and the Mavs are stuck with either Kawhi or LeVert.

I think I´d prefer that outcome over the actual trade.
