Why would you think they are desperately trying to get rid of him? I think most realistic scenario is, he stays with them. He is a good player, overpaid but still good. He will deliver his efficient 20 points, so why trading him for pennies on the dollar, if they are trying to win it all? If they are moving him, they would want decent players back, not a pile of junk, even if it costs less. Horford is the one they need to move and bring a better fit back.
