DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA | Mavs "mostly done...but you never know."

He’s one of the more veteran members of the team, widely recognized as a leader in the locker room. He is their chosen representative for the players association. The front office obviously Values him, since they gave him the contract.

Speaking of the contract, do you think they gave him that money to ride the bench? Contract offers come attached to roles.

I think WCS has a chance to move ahead of Boban pretty quickly, but it’s going to take him quite a while to nudge out Powell if he’s healthy, imo.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to be healthy at the beginning of the year in a season projected to start in late January. His game depends on athleticism, and he's recovering from the most athletically devastating injury in sports.

The only way that damned contract extension can be justified pre-injury is if Powell is funneling over half of his contract to Dirk.

I will keep beating this drum: almost NOTHING is going to go according to script with this draft. It is going to be FUN and WILD.

Only thing that terrifies me about that is if Toppin falls precipitously and we draft him. What a nightmare that would be. He's not going to be able to guard anyone in the L.
