Suns gave up a pick to trade TJ away. Grant is a shame but the Mavs couldn't trade their pick at that time (not sure whether they had interest?) bc they can't do back-to-back pick trades. The challenge is that the Mavs want a very good player but also one that doesn't eat into 2021 space. I am not sure who qualifies once you get past the sexy names like Jrue & Oladipo who are likely out of the Mavs price range. #18 gets you into the Oubre, Schroeder tier of trade targets.
Wright, Jackson and 18 is just 300k away from being able to match on Oladipo. Wonder is 31 and a future 2nd added would get it done. The pick 18 value would be counted as salary in any trade we make with it since we will draft them first for the other team then trade

Never say never. I would send THJ since he would be able to replace some production that they would be losing from Oladipo. It's worth a shot, I just think he'll be part of a bigger trade than what the Mavs could do.
You’re probably right. To me Oladipo(without Hardaway) and DJJ for the MLE would be about the best case scenario we could hope for. A 23 year old and 28 year old is young enough. That would be more than enough offense with Oladipo and THj as your 3rd and 4th scoring options. Versatile adding two plus defenders. Small ball lineup of Luka/Hardaway/Oladipo/DFS/DJJwould be fire. Lots of lineup combinations
