What team in the East has a significantly better starting 5?

Yes. First we established the remaining salaries are not enough to even facilitate Paul trade. So you have to include someone like Fournier or Gordon. Isaac is lost for next season so you are autmatically wasting one season of CP3 bloated contract. Isaac and Gordon can't really exist together in any case.

I wouldn´t be shocked, if we the Mavs tried to trade for CP3. Brunson, #18, #31, Kleber/Curry (high re-trade value) + Wright/Powell (need to eat some sh*t, too).

Where did you lose THJ? If they traded for CP3 (which they won't), THJ+Wright+Powell+Jackson are the contracts needed.

 Why? Those five players (Kleber, Curry, Powell, Wright, Brunson) add up to $38M.
