A few thoughts on tonight's game...
  • I think tonight's game is an important test for the Cisse/Powell competition.
  • Hope to see more of the improved ball movement. I think anyone who is a sticking point goes into the doghouse.
  • I see Rez is listed as a GTD for "rest". What's up with that?
  • Looking for more smooth play from De Larrea and Risacher finds his shot. He's contributed in other ways though.
  • Is the PJW resurgence real?

It is too bad Aldama is out.  I was curious to see how the front court rotation looks like.   It will be tough to get much of a feeling of the front court.

Hopefully Sasser plays.  If so, we should get a pretty good look at pecking order of the 1-3 positions.   A lot of bodies are expecting minutes.

I was thinking that one of Kyrie and Cooper will be on the floor most of the time.  Although, I started thinking if May plays both together for most of their minutes.   Then have a second team of Sergio/Sasser, Max, Marshall, Adama, X.    Could that be a group that can just tread water for times?

Well. I was excited to see them playing together at AAC.

May has already got down the “rest your stars in the NBA until the playoffs” tactic down. I told you guys he’d learn quick.

Well not a good sign. He’s trying to emulate the spurs resting strategy and minutes restrictions BS. Hopefully not.

Honestly, I don't think he needs to see Kyrie or Flagg. He needs to see certain rotation players, and he needs to see rotations without either of them in it.

Enter Dwight Powell.

What message was the Pelicans coach trying to send by not starting his starters. Sort of weird to have them play but not start them.

That second Mavs unit was pretty rough. Even their first unit was not great.

3 point shooting gonna dog this team again isn't it?

Nice run by the Mavs sandwich by some poor play. Pj and Zach really provide nothing in their minutes. Martin is like poking your eye with a spear when he shoots. Cisse playing hard. Some good, some bad. Same for Sergio. Much better when he plays with good offensive players. Nice moments from two of the two way guys. I was looking forward to seeing more of the team tonight. Pretty boring watch so far.

Feels like a summer league game. No real PG outside of De Larrea. Giving guys that usually aren't getting the opportunity the chance to show something. Resulting in some rough stretches with borderline unwatchable offense.

Man, I don’t think it is going to work if you expect Marshall to play point. He can center for himself and do it well, but running an offense or getting things organized is not his strength.
