Great trade for GSW talent wise. Question is, if Jimmy isn't getting his money, how will he fare in the locker room?

From what I've heard, Dennis Schroder won't be staying in Miami as part of the Golden State Warriors' trade for Jimmy Butler. The Utah Jazz are playing facilitator once again.

What are the Warriors doing? Miami won that trade IMO, they added depth for sure. Don't piss off the Godfather.

New Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler has agreed to a new two-year, $121 million extension with the franchise through 2026-27, sources tell me and @WindhorstESPN. Butler is declining his 2025-26 player option for this new $121M deal.

Interesting how this works out on many levels.
Will Butler be happy?
Can Butler and Draymond provide enough spacing for Steph?
Will Butler and Draymond chicken each other out?

Only one extra year is a sensible compromise for both sides.
If I understand correctly, Butler wanted two more years added onto next year. This aligns with the Steph and Draymond deals.

Wiggins, Schroeder, and Anderson are good depth pieces, plus a 1st. I don't see how you can say not much. GS has a bench that's weaker than they already were. I guess Butler changed his mind. He said he wasn't signing an extension with GS.

I think 60 mil for the next 2 years for Jimmy, regardless of the compromise, is a death sentence for team building. Warriors better hope this was the missing piece cause if not they are done done.

I think he's saying that because GSW managed to retain Kuminga, Moody, Jackson-Davis, and most of their firsts.

I don’t know enough about the CBA to know how It impacts team building.
Id much rather pay him, Steph, and Draymond for the next two years and then have a clean cap sheet. Phoenix was offering him three years.

I guess if you look at it that way. We'll see. It all depends on if Jimmy plays nice, and doesn't bump heads with Draymond.
