The most worrying part about that first game was not on the floor. It was the look of Kyrie on the bench. Maybe he was jet-lagged/tired, but the body language doctor was not excited. He looked completely checked out.

Per Stein, Green in starting lineup with Lively today. curry out with illness and Irving and Morris are questionable. Looks like Jones jr is a go.

I think Grant Williams' vibes alone can elevate this team.

Dude, that’s not jet lag. They know how to party in that town.
Pessimism doesn’t make you smart, just pessimistic.

Good for them. Wish I got paid millions to show up hungover.

well bit of a hiccup there with the turnover

Wolves hustling like it is game seven of the WCFs. Would be nice to see something similar from the Mavs.

Whatever the Mavs are doing on defense looks even worse than last year. One screen or switch and the team is in scrambling mode for the rest of the possession. It looks like they are trying to be more aggressive with help defense and double teams. But so far they haven't found the right balance. Leaving the weak side wide open. Losing track of cutters and shooters.

Omax fadeaway. Not exactly Dirk-like balance but he made the best out of a broken possession.

Mavs look pretty good out there. Much more active today for a preseason game. Youngsters with a nice run so far.

Just haven’t made open threes while Minny got some good bounces and made 1 or 2 more.

Was more happy with Lively’s showing there than the first game. Green fits the starters so well.

Tons of wide-open shots missed by Mavs.

Wolves hitting 67% of threes.

Still, only down 9

Welcome to the nba moment there by lively. Ha.Mavs struggling on offense. First quarter it was just missing shots. without Luka and Jaden struggling with two rookies there is not much to go to in the second quarter. Good experience for the youngsters though.

OMax had some good moments but it's obvious that NBA leveld defense is something new for him. He easily beat Anderson of the catch but instead of going up strong he hesitates and gets stripped from behind. A few possessions later he creates of the dribble with less than 5s on the clock. Gets by his defender with a beautiful up and under move but gets blocked by Gobert.

Just not talented enough to hang with this team...Minnesota is better at every aspect. And if Minnesota is just good enough to be battling to make the playoffs again, that's not a good sign for the Mavs hopes this season

I wouldn’t read much in these games. Yes, Minny looks more connected and better these two games but I wouldn’t take much from it.

Powell enters the game and Dallas goes on a 8-0 to finish the first half. Not a good run by Holmes imo. Other than that, nothing really stood out really bad. Hardy and Hardaway missed most of their shots and the mavs continued struggling shooting. Much better effort tonight though.

A little worrisome that there is still no plan on how to get the roleplayers easy scores.
All 3 pointer or die outside of Luka drives
Need cuts and rescreens

Interestingly enough, rebounding is keeping the Mavs in it despite missing a zillion open looks.
