Trade & FA 2023-24: Stein-Ingram Trade Inevitable| LAL Want Lebron Back On Any Terms

A twitter account that called several big moves before anyone else (including today's Harden stuff) recently predicted that KAT could go to Phoenix or Dallas.

Wow. Thanks for the response.

I think at this point it´s more than obvious that the Mavs have pitched Kyrie a number, Kyrie doesn´t like it and the Mavs feel that the worst case scenario in all of this is getting Ayton one way or the other.

No worries. He opted in with the Bulls.

Irving --> PHI
KAT --> DAL
... with various players / picks to even things out

Just saw Brian Windhorst on TV. He said Kyrie to the Sixers could be in play now that Philly is trading Harden after he opted in. They couldn't come to an agreement on a deal. Harden probably could wind up with the Clippers since they dumped Eric Gordon's salary and saved 110 million off their books. Don't cha just love this time of the year?

Well, he also talked about Lillard ending up in Philly. I think he's just assuming that any big-name guard could be highly appealing to Morey right now. But that's a safe bet.

Chris Haynes has been pretty off all offseason.

Yeah, he's horrible.

Fun fact, I sat next to him during summer league games just moments after he broke news that Jamal Crawford had signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

I just like telling people that.

I missed a lot today it seems.

But before I go pass out, I do want to throw out this idea. SnT for Thybulle for Wood. Wood seems like a prime Portland Trailblazer.

Failed to mention that Harden apparently decided the situation in Philly (as with Houston and Brooklyn) was crazy and could not be fixed. Either way, he's on move again, opting into contract to explore trade scenarios out of Philadelphia https://houstonchronicle.com/texas-sport...0(Premium)&utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral via

This is what the Mavs are paying Nico Harrison to handle with Kyrie. Same thing happened with Kyrie in Brooklyn. Relationships.

Honestly. How many times have Harden and Irving been traded/changed teams via trades/free agency already. MAYBE it´s not the teams, who have the problem.

When Kyrie dictates Ramona Shelbourne that he is looking for a HOME that he can finish his career at, somewhere he feels welcome and needed, you know what that translates to:

I WANT A FIVE YEAR MAX, Mavs won´t give it to me. They are so mean. I am letting you know.

In two years Ramona gets a scoop/home story from Kyrie in return.

I´m so out on Kyrie for anything above two years (+ team option in year three). If the Mavs have gotten smarter, it´s that or hello Ayton + X.

It´s plan obvious, he wants to be paid once again. That´s all. All this BS about cancerous Nets.  GET OUT. Suns are there.

Absolutely! Thybulle would fit this team like a glove. Everyone tries to bring up his shooting to say he wouldn't fit but he shot 39% from three on 4 attempts a game for POR last year. He's arguably one of the top 3 best wing defenders in the NBA. A positive DWS and DBPM and RAPTOR every year. You don't find 26 year olds that can do what he does for the price it will likely cost.

So do we expect a quiet day/evening for the Mavs? A semi entertaining day/night? Or a WTF is going on day/evening?

Personally, I think the Mavs need one bigger player, probably PF type. Then you can fill in the rest. You can probably find a gap filling center for low cost. But the PF position is really lacking. Omax in time could be the perfect player for this position. We will see. But Ideally for the next two years he is paired with a veteran. I don't want to factor in big minutes for Maxi because we have seen his body can't handle it over a full season. I think the PF position would be easier to fill if we were confident we would have really good center play. With that being a question, it makes the PF much more important imo.

I also have no idea if we should expect anything from Holmes. I think Kidd was really disappointed how bad we were dominated inside last year. They had hoped McGee would have improved the rebounding and defense. But they were worse last year. I think that is why there was rumored interest in Drummond. They just want one big body who can fill in and improve that area for the short term. A Lively/Holmes/Powell center rotation has a lot of question marks short term imo.

I think we need a starter either at center or PF.

The questions are all over the place at the center position. Fans will go ballistic if our center rotation is Holmes/ Lively/ Powell. And what do we do with McGee after signaling he's useless?

Furthermore, our wing position has very little veteran leadership if Bullock or THj leaves.

Maybe things move a little once Kyrie is settled.

My wishlist today:
Sign Kyrie for 40M/yr or less
Sign Thybulle for the MLE
SnT THJ for PJ Washington

Luka
Irving - Hardy
Green - Thybulle
PJ Wash - Maxi - OMax
Holmes - Lively

Use Reggie at the TDL to upgrade the 5 if you need to.

I think the Mavs would have interest in both.  Getting either will be difficult.

I think Omahan mentioned Portland would be someone to watch if they moved Lillard.   Then Grant could be available and Mavs could be aggressive there.

I am not sure the fit with Charlotte though.  At least for now, they need to be excited about a big, young athletic team.   Maybe if you took Hayward off their hands like Dan mentioned.   But Hayward only has one year left so i don’t think it imperative they move him.

Question for the cap people.  if the Sixers and Clipps were ok on a Harden+Harris for PG deal could the Mavs enter as a third team and in the process sign and trade Kyrie to the Sixers? Or does a sign and trade need to only be with two teams?
(I could get the trade done successfully on fanspo but not on spotrac)

I was thinking
76'ers get PG + Kyrie
Clipps get Harden + Harris
Mavs get T.Maxey, Powell, Covington, protected 2028 1st from Philly & a protected 2029 1st from LA.

76'ers get two stars
Clipps get good return for PG and get off the Powell contract
Mavs get a young stud in Maxey, 2 firsts and an expiring for the price of taking on Powell's contract.

then the Mavs could be in the Dame Lillard business if they want to but whatever they decide going forward, they have the ability make serious moves.
