Trade & FA 2023-24: Stein-Ingram Trade Inevitable| LAL Want Lebron Back On Any Terms

Zach Collins is who we want from SA.

As for the deal - all accounts are, that Sochan is untouchable. He was 9th pick last year and has great potential. In addition to that, SA would be taking a bunch ob bad money (cap space has value) and pay 3 SRP. I am affraid valuation is far off, no matter how much they might like Bilal.

The only player from their core (Wemby, Sochan, Vassel, Johnson) that could be available is Johnson.

What you could perhaps do from your proposal - remove Sochan and insert one of the less talented guys on rookie deals they have (Wesley, Branham, Bassey). They might be available in such a deal.
Hmmm, I watched them a few games last season (outside of Mavs games) and didn’t come away thinking Sochan was a core piece type player. If that’s the case you’re right.

This will be the first year into Johnson’s extension, which I assume they got the value right seeing as though they let Murray go before they had to extend him. Why would they let go of Johnson to pick up Bilal? Wallace makes the most sense in their case if all if that is true. They have to hit the minimum too.

It would be tough losing Bertans, but for #16 + #28, I´d do it. I assume #10 is not involved in this atrocious offer.

All these rumours scare the crap out of me. They´ll probably do something really stupid again.

It wasn't listed as being part of it. "It would be tough losing Bertans" - that's how Nico ought to talk to Ainge. If they want to give us #16 and #28 for Bertans straight up, why not pull the trigger right now?

Do that plus the Capela and 15 for 10 and THJ, then use 15 and 16 to trade back up to 11-13 range to grab Lively, Coulibaly, Wallace, or whoever has fallen.

I'm afraid of them doing something stupid, but these two trade rumors don't fall into that category.

Capella is not who we should be targeting. On the decline and clogs up the offense, isn't a switching defender.

Latest mocks have Hendricks falling to #10. If so, you draft him no matter what. We need to target Zubac or J.Allen, Z.Collins, N.Reid (S&T), Caruso, and Tari Eason. No more distressed, overpriced assets.

I love Lively, but he's WAY too much of a project for Luka's timeline.  It'll be at least 3 years until Lively can be in the backend of a rotation.

I like these rumors a lot. Let's make some moves like this. Seems to good to be true. Cuban will probably blow it somehow.

I think Lively is better than you think. Most GMs seem to agree with me.

How do you propose we get those guys on your list if we re-sign Kyrie and pick Hendricks?

I´m sure the #10 pick part is just missing there. I´m still not very interested in those trade down scenarios, until I know who is actually there at #10. If it´s Ausar Thompson, I´m much more interested to trade down. I´m on the fence about Black and Walker. Hendricks I keep. I´m still of the opinion that acquiring an additional pick(s) without trading down is most interesting. The Pacers and Hornets have too many late 1st/early 2nd round picks. Just eat a minor "bad" contract and you might pick between Miller, Sensabaugh and Whitehead if the latest ESPN mock is accurate.

It will be classic Mavericks scenario. Some team will trade for Daniel Theis and receive one of the Pacers picks. Mavs will not be interested, then sign a player on the level of Theis in free agency for the same money.

I know Cuban is cheap, but can first round draft picks still be bought?

What if the Capela trade talk is accurate, but Capela would not be winding up in Dallas? What if PHX winds up with Capela. Any deal there with Dallas winding up with Ayton?

Mavs gave up an extra 2nd round pick instead of using cash to land Hardy. It´s not going to happen.

I didn't realize that. That's insanity.

So how about an Indy and ATL 3-way trade that really fixes ATL's biggest issue:

Dallas trades THJ & McGee to Indy for Theis, TJ McConnel, and one of (Isaiah Jackson, Duarte, Jalen Smith) and Indy's 26 and 55 picks

Dallas trades Bertans and the 26 pick to ATL for Collins, 15 pick, and 46 pick

I am afraid that the package is way too light for Indiana... But at different times we have heard that Indy wants win now players, Theis and McConnel have been/are out of favor, and Rick doesn't want to develop lower picks.

That's likely too much for Collins too.  Not sure he's really a guy you want to trade for.

I'm not saying he's not good.  I'm saying he's raw.  20mins/game  in 34 games in his one year in college shows that.  We really don't know what GMs think of him until Thursday, do we?  I'd bet a lot of money on his getting drafted to a team that has an established starting C.  Kid's 3 years out from contributing.

Dallas: Batum, Zubac
Phoenix: Bertans, Green, Covington
Clips: Ayton

Dallas: Reid, Caruso, Prince
Minny: THJ
Chicago: Maxi, Moore Jr.

Luka, Caruso
Kyrie, Hardy
Batum, Bullock
Hendricks, Prince
Zubac, Reid

If Hendricks is gone at #10, you trade #10 for Eason.  In that case, you resign Wood.
Luka, Caruso
Kyrie, Hardy
Eason, Batum
Wood, Prince
Zubac, Reid

Why do we want Collins?  He's on a sharp decline.  His contract is twice his worth, $13m/year of dead money.

Quote:Tobias Harris, De’Andre Hunter and Dorian Finney-Smith are potential trade targets for the Pacers, per @DraftExpress (https://t.co/AQKv6uvfcE).

Indiana could consolidate some of their additional draft picks (26, 29, 32) by acquiring a starting wing.

I think you're right on the money with this one by the way. There as been A LOT of smoke with PHX and Collins, starting all the way back at the TDL.

Shams just released this report as well on his Twitter show:

https://twitter.com/HawksFanTV/status/16...-lY9WSpYEQ&s=19

Quote:Per Shams, “Phoenix and Atlanta had a deal in place to acquire John Collins that would’ve sent Chris Paul to a third team”

Most likely would’ve been for filler and draft picks in return.

If Collins' value is to the point of just air and some 2nd rounders (I'd assume the 52nd pick was apart of this deal) his value is exceedingly low. Yet PHX is interested. I definitely think there is a 3 team deal here with PHX-ATL-DAL.

PHX gets Collins+Capela. 1 positive asset, 1 negative asset.

DAL gets Ayton 1 neutral to bad asset.

ATL gets THJ+Bullock+McGee. 2 Wings they want  + get off of a boat load of money (and I mean a boatload). 12 mil next season. 26 mil the next season.

PHX gets 2 starters for Ayton, and they need a starting center in any Ayton deal. Windhorst reported that PHX is interested in keeping Landale, Okogie, Biyombo, and Craig. Including Godwin+Todd, that is basically a complete roster. Total salary of which would be: $201,721,695 (used Spotract). That's a 13 man roster there.

Why doesn't PHX do this? Well it actually increases their cap figure by about 6 mil over the next 2 years, and then only a decrease of 10 mil in the last year. I doubt PHX really wants be above the 2nd apron that long. But concessions have to be made if they want a starting center AND more for just Ayton.

Why does ATL do this? They get off a boat load of money. Getting off of Collins+Capela opens up Okongwu's role and cleans their cap sheet pretty well given THJ+Bullock's contracts are relatively cap friendly.

ATL will probably demand a 10 for 15 swap with the Mavs. I'd still do it.

DAL net trade THJ+Bullock+10 for Ayton+15.

ATL net trade Collins+Capela+15 for THJ+Bullock+McGee+10

PHX net trade: Ayton for Collins+Capela.

ATL is getting off a bit light at first glance, but if Collins' value is CP3+52nd pick (essentially 10 mil savings+2nd) then he really is a ballast, and ATL getting off of him should be seen as a big value.
