GAME 26: DAL (13-13) @ CHI (11-14) | 115-144 loss

Nah, he knows.  He also let the Bulls get in his head at the end.

Positives:

+Kemba's knee didn't explode.
+Hardy got burn and hopefully a slew of takeaways to grow from.
+Kidd actually gave Hardy burn

Let’s clip those fourth quarter baskets by McGee with cool music and email to every team in the league Smile

There is a role for him on a 15-roster but it should be limited to 5-10 minutes as a defensive specialist. Just like in the playoffs when he replaced Green in the rotation. Mix it up and full court press the best opposing scorer for a couple of minutes. Hope that Frank can get back to 35% + from 3 and park him in the corner on offense.

Normally, Frankie shouldn't be a ball handler, but this is the Mavs.

If a guy like RB whose specialty is shooting and can't shoot and can't dribble, you get a guy replace him. Even if the guy replacing him can't score either, at the very least, he should be able to handle the ball better. Not dribbling as a playmaker, but just normal dribbling where a player can put down the ball to help with ball pressure.

RB couldn't dribble at all.

Hey Mavs…..that is how you are suppose to play when you are playing a team without starters.

Some of his posts moves were legit great.  Then after he gets that nasty dunk, he falls down in transition leading to an open three, doesn't close out for another open three, tries to dribble behind his back at the top of the key and fails, takes a three point attempt to try to answer.  Letting an end of the bench opponent live rent free in your head is embarrassing.

Just wait for the post game press conference. I am expecting somethink like "We tried something new and started Christian Wood. Things didn´t work out and the team struggled on the defensive end. With McGee on the floor things looked a lot better. As a true veteran he was able to lead the team and inserted much needed energy into the lineup. We will look into this and see if we can find a bigger role for him".

I´m thinking burn all the game tape evidence and see if we can boxscore trade him right now. Big Grin

1. Kemba was +2 in 20 minutes in 30 point loss. It´s almost like being a 4-time All-Star and best player on a play-off team means something.
2. Hardy needs minutes now.
3. Kemba/Hardy combined for 9/10 FTs in the 4th quarter.
4. Ntilikina just does not have it. He´s a 20% Rubio. He´d have to be at least a 60% Rubio to crack a rotation on defense alone.
5. Bertans was also disgustingly lazy. At this point he´s just hiding behind Joel.

The other shoe dropped on this back-to-back.  Trade everyone you can not named Luka, Maxi, Josh and Jaden.

The Mavs look a little like an expansion team.

I suspect everyone is back for OKC. Doesn't mean that's going to be a easy game.   SGA has been lights out.

Probably the most attractive trade piece we have.

Fact is Dallas is wasting Luka's best years with inept management. Do you realize how many years have passed since Luka came? And nothing. The only fair way is to trade him now, when he still has some juice in him. Soon will be too late. Let Dallas start from the bottom, for that is where they are. No
other way makes sense. Dallas tried them and failed them all. Trade Luka, let be fair and realistic.

Well, then.  Propose a Luka trade for our consideration.

Easy. To Lakers for Westbrook and a SRP. Mavs get an expiring contract and draft asset Smile

Those were really bad and there were others.  I said last night I wanted to see some fight for a guy out of the rotation.  There was none there.  He did clap when the bulls missed a free throw in the fourth when we were down 30.

I could care less about the mop up duty.  He laid a turd in the first half.  Even Hardy played the night before.  No excuse for McGee.

He hasn’t earned any non mop up minutes.  Any he gets the next 3 weeks will speak volumes for me.

To say there in no interest  in trading for Luka is laughable, he is among ten best players in NBA, and nobody wants him? Trade him now, he cannot do more in Dallas that he has done, nobody can. Even so amateurish management as Dallas' will be abelo to bungle it, somehow. Free Luka, Trade Dončič.

Meant to reply not like your post.

In any case this is the most knee jerk take I've seen in a while (and we have a tankathon thread a couple threads below this one). Mavs making the WCF happened literally just 6 months ago.

This team is broken, agreed, but they're a lot closer to a finals appearance than I think we all currently realize. Just need 1-2 good trades.

Do I have any confidence in the Cuban/Nico/Kidd triumvirate to make those trades without getting fleeced? Not really. But that doesn't matter. Just gotta cross our fingers and hope it happens.
