So that means Dennis Smith Jr should be far ahead of Green. Frank too.

Luka says it is easier to score here than there so that means Dorsey can score 30 a night!!!

I think Nico first noticed Dorsey when he was playing at Oregon.  idk

Dorsey doesn't look smooth at all.

Time to give Ricky Ledo a call.

Yeah, the level of talent is obviously much higher in the NBA.  But good news that he is standing out so far over there.  The scouting report says he is a Plus NBA shooter.   It is the rest of his game we will need to see if he is NBA level.  Being able to defend will give him a much better chance.

Not saying he is this kind of player but a little Gary Trent Jr or Seth Curry feel in those highlights.

Halftime. Luka only with 7 FGA. But as usual looking a lot better on defense with the national team.

Off shooting performance but one of Luka´s best defensive games I can remember. Including clutch stops in the 4th quarter. Just like in the olympic qualifiers last year he was matched up with Sabonis. Just like last year he played great post defense.
Was my biggest takeaway last year. And it seems like it is still valid. Luka´s best defensive position is PF. If possible keep him close to the rim. His help defense instincts aren´t bad (if he isn´t trying to avoid fouls or plays lazy) and his strength makes it nearly impossible to bully him in the paint.

Dwight Powell would be proud. "Face first defense" for the win.

Watching France-Germany. Suprised that Germany looks like the better team in the first half. Wondering if one of their bigs (Thiemann, Voigtmann) could be another Kleber like player. More convinced than ever before that the Mavs shouldn´t go after Schroder. Decision making is terrible.

On the other side. Gobert is a complete non factor for France. Yabusele might be ready for a return to the NBA. Great season with Real Madrid. Seems like he developed a legit jumpshot and combined with his athleticism/first step + strength he looks like a budget version of Zion.

They're both very different from Maxi. Maxi is quicker, more athletic and better defensively.

JT and Joe are both rather more traditional bigs, but both can shoot the 3 and score better from close to the basket.

Joe sure has the higher chances of making it to the NBA, but I have not seen or heard anything pointing into that direction.

Loved how Germany played today. This team really has a defensive identity and a very clever coach.

I brought up Voigtmann earlier this offseason (before we signed McGee) as a guy for the Mavs to take a good look a, mainly because of the contract situation (under contract in Russia but left the country when the war started. Probably has an NBA clause that could get him out cleanly.) Not sure he could make it in the NBA, but he's a unique player with 7ft size, good IQ, passing and a 3pt shot, like a (very) poor man's Jokic.

Thiemann is listed as PF/C, but actually more a wing. Maybe a poor man's Batum. I really like him, he might fill a small role, but probably not an NBA player. Today he had one of the best games i've seen from him.

Both are already older (Voigtmann almost 30, Thiemann 28), so they have to fit right away, not much time to develop.

Am I the only one who raised his eyebrows reading that Moshley was there as well? I at least didn't knew that they were that close...

Might be unconnected to the Dallas party, he also sat a few seats apart. He's Franz Wagner's coach.

Short sequence has two potential carry calls where the hand is underneath the ball. IDK if the rules are different for FIBA or if they just let it go.

But I guess it looks good on the highlight reel.

I checked out his instagram yesterday and he had a post of them raising Dirk's jersey with a caption saying something like "the Best who has ever done it".   Dirk also follows him on instagram.

There are 4-5 guys still out there who are better than minimum guys, but I am not sure if all of them get above the minimum.   With Hardaway, Dallas has a crowded backcourt, but there may be a good chance to play for a good team and rebuild your value.   I am sure Schoeder wants to avoid a minimum deal, but I am not sure who that team will be to offer more.
