As much as I would hesitate to give up the '27 in an unprotected state...
You have to do this if it means getting off of THJ or a Bertans/McGee with Wood.
You might even end up with an Ayton/Crowder package and get a couple of 2nd RP's

I don't think that's the right all in move, but if McGee is outgoing, I'll be more supportive. Ayton is really talented. I'm just worried he is a dinosaur in today's game. He's a talented pick and roll player and a good defender. Maybe he's needed to anchor this terrible defense we're about to have. Just like Kyrie, it if happens, I'll get behind it, but I hope there's a better move out there.

I bet that's where this conversation starts, but my guess is it ends with only Crowder coming here.
Ayton and Crowder is something I would be more behind.

He's not the defender he's made out to be around here. Good screener and rim-roller, yes, and that's not nothing. But defensively, any suns fan will tell you, he's not it. Not a great rebounder, either.

Still, given the tenor of today's Wood conversations, and the fact that pretty much everyone agrees it's time for Hardaway to go...I'd say you'd have to do it.

We better not include Green or Hardy or I'll join the Kyrie, burn this place to the ground crowd.

I'll take your word for it. I haven't been overly impressed with him when I watch him play. I also don't care enough about him to look up his defensive metrics..lol

I'd bet a lot that Hardy would be in that deal.

Screw that. I think Hardy has the "it" factor. Hell to the no on that.

I'm also excited to see Hardy learn from Kyrie "the player".

Totally agree. But remember, we live in a world in which Plan A is to sign Kyrie longterm to play pretty much the exact role we hope Hardy can grow into, consistently.

And, PHX seems to be overtly looking around for solutions to their "aging Chris Paul" problem. Hardy is the first thing they'll ask for, I'm sure.

Even with Kyrie here long term, I still see a big role for Hardy as he develops. The great thing about Luka is he can play the 3 or 4 on defense.

I agree with you, and I'm no huge fan of Ayton. But I'm just saying...some people are. And to them it would be a no-brainer.

If Hardy is raised as a deal-breaker, this had better be Nico's move.

They are actually playing KP at 4 and Gafford at 5. They both start
At Hardy's age, I consider him more untouchable than Green.

If plan A is to pay Kyrie 50M per year, than Hardy on a rookie contract is even more valuable to us.

Ah, that wasn't the case earlier in the year when I checked.

So, KP at the 4 and Kuzma at the 3????

No wonder that team sucks so much. That's really, really dumb.
THJ, Wood, McGee  ...for.... Collins, Bogey
OR
Unprotected 1st, THJ, Wood, McGee  ...for.... Ayton, Crowder

Which?

Sure, unless you're in the camp who thinks Ayton is a stud center and adding him would make this team a contender. And I think you know there are people who'll think that.
