Consistency for role players is always an issue. That's why they're role players. It's what they provide when they aren't scoring is what makes a role player valuable.
I don't think it's outlandish to say Green disappears sometimes on the court. But he always tries to make the correct play, passes the ball well, and is one of the better defenders on the roster.
If Green was an 18ppg (arbitrary 3rd scorer value I just made up) and was able to do that every game he'd be a 100 million player. He's not that. I don't think he'll ever be that. But what he is right now is good enough and works. He's not untouchable but he's a solid dude.
The real blame has to be on Kidd. I keep bringing it up but the Mavs have changed basically every single aspect of this team in 3 years and it still looks broken. Luka is definitely not the problem. The only other constant is Kidd.
I hope the Mavs FO sees what everyone else can see.
