If they keep that having Luka to stabilize the half court setup, I really like our future this year (esp with another trade that upgrades a couple spots). I want THJ gone for at least a side grade player like Levert (I know that isn't happening anymore), but if the younguns are given the latitude to run like they have the last 2 games, I can't lie though that THJ won't get a lot more open shots (as long as he hits them unlike so far this season) in transition AND the half court.

I especially like the runout energy I'm seeing from the young guys, Green and Hardy in particular. That puts so much pressure on the opponent's defense, helps rebounding by making them get back and increases the need for stops in half court action. It's going to positively add to the DAL offense without having to burn up Luka on every fast break opportunity. Provides a nice change of pace without having to alter the game plan.

With all due disrespect to the Kings, I´m fine with finishing 6th. And we have owned #2 Memphis, so that´s a pretty good path. Let the Nuggets/Clippers/Suns/Warriors/Wolves stay on the other side of the bracket.

Yeah, that's good stuff. I hadn't gotten around to that level of the chess game yet.

We are more likely to finish 3rd than 6th. Which is the same but better, as long as Kings finish 6th, which is more likely than 3rd at this point.

Teeny-tiny sample size but something to consider:
Mavs passes per game all season before Feb. 8: 265.4, 27th in the NBA
Mavs passes per game since Feb. 8 (post-trade, Kyrie's debut): 332.3, 1st in the NBA

10:59 AM · Feb 13, 2023 Would like to know going forward (starting with last game) where we are with this stat with just Luka and then with Luka and Kyrie (basically taking out the recent games Luka was injured for as I feel those games will skew the numbers too much and would like to get a handle on what we look like in this 1 way with the duo and with just Luka).

Salary cap nuances of Kyrie trade
Thanks for this. It tells you that while Trade Machines are a nice guide, they don’t really tell the entire story when it comes to all of these nuances.

Also notable that Morris wasn't needed. Was he added by Brooklyn? Requested by Dallas? Mavs seem to have a glaring need for size in the front court given all the injuries but strangely silent on Morris.

Was it last night on the broadcast that he said he is not in shape due to not playing so needs some ramp up time.
Him in his prime would be a solid rotation player. Not sure he is that player any longer, but we will see.

Wasn't it that BKN had to clear a roster spot?
