AROUND the NBA: Amazon & NBA Have Deal for Broadcast Rights| Dame Hurt
(03-05-2024, 01:19 AM)SleepingHero Wrote: The Kings really just imploded. They were up 22 at one point late in the 3rd and still up I believe 15 going into the 4th. What then occurred was some of the sloppiest basketball I've ever seen from the Kings, where they decided to just try and throw any shot up from an iso crossover while Demar Derozan lit them up in the 4th.

DeRozan played all 12 minutes in the 4th. He went 7 for 7 from the field, 4/4 from the FT line and scored 19 points. He was a monster.

Chicago somehow wins this game.

It’s all the incompetent head coaches, that are solely responsible for the outcomes of games.

Right?

Almost every fan base thinks their coach is terrible. It’s been that way since the beginning of time. Smile

Why do you use the screen name "DallasMaverick" when you so clearly have a hell-bent hatred for the team? That's the only conclusion I can come to with your consistent defense of and cheerleading for the 29th best coach in the league.

Except maybe the Spurs and the Heat

I was just thinking... how lucky the rest of the NBA is that the OKC Thunder didn't make a move for Deni Avdija this past trade deadline. That seems like a move which might have allowed them to walk their way to the title.

Giddey........ Wallace
Shay........... iJoe, Wiggins
Jalen........... Hayward, Dort
Avdija......... Dieng
Chet........... Jaylin

They have the assets to trade for a superstar and the caspace to sign whoever they want. I would assume that Presti is chasing bigger fishes than Avdija.

The Pistons' remaining schedule is insanity. No wonder they're losing.

Yeah, agreed, they could trade for a superstar... but they may not even need one to win. A smaller signing like Avdija could be enough. And would be cheap enough too, so they could continue to add to their team with all their assets in future years.

It's going to be a really bad look for the Mavericks and Luka, when OKC and SGA win a title before they do.

tough news. We will see if he decides to have surgery. Bad time for that type of injury.

I am so bitter with the Mavs. They were in a good spot to challenge for a top 6 and potentially have a chance in round 1. Probably not favored but a punchers chance. These last two games have been so demoralizing that it is tough to even state. Indy lost to the Spurs the previous game and the Sixers lost to the Grizz last night. Against the Mavs they felt like immovable forces. What the heck happened.

This definitely changes things at the top of the conference, if he has to miss time.  Opens the door for Denver, Clips, or OKC to make a move.

Nets say Ben Simmons will miss the rest of the season while he consults with specialists and explores treatment options for the nerve impingement in his lower back.

ESPN Sources: Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns has suffered a left meniscus injury, but it remains unclear about how much, if any, time he’ll be required to miss. Towns and team are working to get full understanding of degree of injury and whether it demands immediate action.

I said this jokingly a few weeks ago... but the Mavs best path to a possible finals is as the 8th seed. So y'all better keep your fingers, toes and everything else in between crossed that they can make it through the play-in.

Guys are we really being serious saying we can beat whoever the #1 or #2 seed is, while we also admit we may miss the playoffs and are probably a play in team at best. This team isn't going to win in the playoffs. It's just not in the cards unless a new coach comes in.

I agree with you. This team is so bipolar that they could go on a run or lose play in. The best path may be to luck into avoiding the 3/4/5/6 teams and 1/2 could be OKC/Minn who we match up better against

Obviously not worth dreaming about at the moment with how we’ve been playing

One thing that’s undeniable is this current roster has much more talent than the team that made the 2022 WCF run

So much this. It's the confluence of nearly every one of the rotation players except PJ and probably Luka having an issue at the same time with the offense and the defense being both bad to begin with and falling apart (insofar as they were at all effective before). A perfect storm. But this team does have the personnel to make a deep, deep run if it weren't for the coaching and if things would fall back into place for the individual players.
