No disrespect to Josh Green, but that whole 2020 draft. F`n hell.
The failed coup to land Haliburton for Brunson looks even worse now. If Carlisle wants to move up in the draft for a rookie, something is going on.
Bey at #19, Maxey at #21, Quickley at #25, McDaniels at #28, Bane at #30.
It wasn´t just the Green pick. #31 and #36 were even worse. Could have easily moved for McDaniels or Bane like the Wolves/Grizzlies did. Terry clearly had mental issues and Cuban 100% picked him, cause Bill Simmons hyped him up to be the next Trae Young.
This whole 2023 draft êxperience was like eating at a Michelin star restaurant, when we were used to eating from the dumpster behind McDonald´s for a decade.
Oh, that 2020 Draft has caused some sleepless nights.
I was high on Bane early on, and was hoping we picked him at 18. If not i really like Maxey. I dont watch alot of College Basketball but with Bane being at TCU and Maxey a local high school kid i was on those guys. Same with RJ Hampton being local, looks like i was wrong on him.
Then Saddiq Bey dropped a little and was hoping we could double dip with Saddiq Bey at 18 and Bane at 31. Well , we got Bey but it was the wrong one.
2023 draft was so out of the norm for the Mavs. It was a beauty to watch. I love Lively and i think he's going to be a good one for many years. But i cant help but see guys drafted after him and wonder. I wouldnt change it, just thoughts.
Hawkins or Keyonte George will be the two i'll follow and wonder about. I actualy think our biggest regret from the 2023 draft with be passing on Leonard Miller at 24 for OMax.
